From what I could formulate, Gangle is meant to represent people who mask their depression and frustrations. People who strive for more then their current circumstances, which is what the ending scene was, Gangle wanting to escape her mundane life

I have gotten serious bipolar energy from this, there's a stage where you feel normal one moment, then completely manic in a few hours (these can also take days too) it could last a while and at it's peak you feel like you can do anything, and when you crash, everything falls apart. When you snap out of the feeling it'll burn you out make you realize how you failed goals, and you drop so fast into depression, it doesn't get any prettier. Which is what happened at the end of the episode when she trips, she has that last moment where she realizes that's it's not what she wanted.

Even though Kinger is still my favourite character, I really relate to Gangle's struggle in this episode and how she's constantly trying to cope with her own inner sadness, which is incredibly relatable, especially as someone who also loves to draw and create art and had to simultaneously worked before in the food industry as a waiter, I totally understand how much you have to cope with the mundanity and mental stress of having to work in such a gruelling environment while trying to keep it together and feeling as if the days go by and lose out on your dreams with people who you feel like dont care enough about you or your dreams/passions, however, there are people out there that do care, and Gangle is lucky to have people like Zooble, Ragatha, Kinger and now Pomni care about her (Jax Im not to sure about). That Gummigoo reveal was CRAZY unexpected, and I can only imagine how many of the fan shippers will go wild after seeing Pomni reunited with him, even if he doesn't remember her! Overall, really good episode 8/10 BTW I really want to see what Kinger was up to with that picture of him bull-riding.

I took it a different way. He's the only one of the crew to like really really not be able to get into this adventure. Everyone else had little to no problem. This is human work. Things we've done before. Jax is not only completely thrown off in this adventure, but he genuinely begins to "connect" with the others. It feels to me like this makes Jax feel even more like an ai, in a lot of ways. But of course, that's the beautiful thing about different perspectives. This show is great. 😂

There's a concept called "suicidal ideation", where you don't necessarily want to actively end yourself, but you also don't care if you die. So you don't try to avoid dangerous things, you don't take any care of yourself, etc. I've... unfortunately been there, more than once. I've had times in my life where I don't want to actively end myself, but I've also thought, "if I got hit by a car right now, that might not be so bad. Either I'd die and finally be free, or at least end up in the hospital and things would be different than the same old monotony and pain I have every day." I don't know if Gangle's end-of-shift was meant to convey that, but it definitely fits.

@@IceMetalPunk Oh I know of suicidal ideation, I have suffered with it for 20 or so years. I don't feel it was that. It didn't give off she felt something like "if I die now I wouldnt care" feel. She tripped and fell back, completely accidental. Not subconsciously unavoiding dangerous situations. This was a parking lot and road in front of a randomly created fast food place made by Caine. From just before she even left the building and up to the trip there was not a single hint there was traffic. Not after the restaurant seemed to close. The whole time she was running and dancing it seemed like she was alone in the area. But then again this is just trying to interpret a single scene. So who knows

I am so interested in the small tid bits of info we've gathered. Pomni knows an interesting amount about game collision and possibly a speed runner/gamer? Kinger spent 7 years in computer science? And hated bugs in the past? Like a programmer hates computer bugs. Gangle used to be a manager at some point. Also loves drawing and making web comics? And ragetha in this episode talked about having horses, handling packages, had dance lessons and tea parties?(sounds like a rich kid). It's really interesting what small bits of info we're being given.

@sword3349 ah yes, because being an accountant means you can't play games :/ What I mean is, the average person does not understand collision hit boxes, much less how to exploit them for your own gain. To recognize that a block in one area has extremely buggy hit boxes and use that info to game break later on sounds like something a speedrunner would know. Also any information that's not given from the show (tumblr or interviews) im taking with a grain of salt. Cannon information should come from the show and surrounding media, not a random ask their tumblr accountant got.

The way Gangle got her new mask and finally started feeling happy, even if temporarily, only for everyone around her to tell her she's annoying like that and they prefer when she's miserable and quiet was so heart breaking. I felt Gangle really hard on this one as someone who masked my emotions for a very long time, it gets draining. And it's heartbreaking when you try being yourself for once and you have a good day, only to learn nobody actually likes the real you.

As usual, Glitch knocks it out of the park. This episode felt very different from the last three, but it was a great kind of different. I genuinely felt so bad for Gangle, and related to a bit of her struggle. The scene where she leaves work and throws off the mask is very powerful. Also, her and Zooble being close is adorable. As a whole, while being centered around Gangle, all of the characters at Spudsy’s got things revealed about their personalities.

Speaking from experience, every single reference/experience Gangle has as middle manager who actually tries in food service is unbelievably on point. The expectation for aggressive positivity, trying to appear perfect despite knowing you’re barely keeping it together, being instructed how to treat employees like “assets”, and all the little moments of uncertainty and depressing loneliness, followed by euphoric release at the moment you’re freed from the responsibility.

Yeah, they know if Caine every gets actually upset he could destroy the entire Digital Circus, as they witnessed in the third episode 14:15 - Halloween III: Season of the Witch reference. Also A Clockwork Orange to a degree. 15:21 - Direct quote from the song "I'm No Girls Toy" from Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure. I love how there's basically a reference to that movie in every episode. As for everything else, PRETTY sure that's not the same Gummigoo, that it's just Gummigoo's asset being reused for the sake of this adventure, like the Gloinks and the Gloink Queen. There's a bit of ambiguity as to whether or not he remembers Pomni, though, so it can be read either way. It's been confirmed by Gooseworx that there will be 5 more episodes after this, with Ragatha being the focus of episode 5, Jax being the focus of episode 6, while episodes 7, 8, and 9 are "wait and see" situations. Gooseworx also said something along the lines of "I'm not sure if there will be a season 2," thought to me that sounds like she had an idea planned out for 9 episodes and didn't think beyond that. Maybe it will make more sense once we actually see the final episode, but for now it seems like these 9 episodes are all we're getting. I actually don't buy into the "Jax is actually AI" theory, I've actually cooked up a crazier theory after this episode, that Jax is actually the first person to enter the Digital Circus (he said Kinger has "supposedly" been there the longest), and that he was a child at the time, hence why he's so immature and detached, not to mention has intricate knowledge of how the Digital Circus works. I'm probably (almost definitely) completely off the mark there, but at the very least, we see a different side of Jax here, one who's so worn down and restricted by Gangle that he's making surprisingly cordial small talk with Pomni, and when he clocks out, he can barely keep up his typical demeanor before dropping it once he's exited the restaurant and goes to his car... which has a license plate of 001, another reason why I buy into the whole "Jax is actually the first Digital Circus player" thing.

I think the mask is actually a representation of medication. It works great at first but over time it starts to work less and less until you feel as or even worse than before. When the mask was removed they felt much better, but only in the short term. Going 'cold turkey' on their meds was what caused them to ultimately fail, as shown with Mr. Isekai Truck.

As a McDonalds worker this episode was quite relatable and it was accurate. There was a Karen, an overbearing manager, disgusting restroom (alluded to), and I guess the gloink queen counts as the crazy crackhead customer.

It's really telling of the show's quality they can make an episode about being wage slaves in a fast food chain and still make it engaging I never thought Jax was an AI, rather that he still retains some of his memories, and he's perhaps not here on innocent motivations. Like maybe he's a hacker who was tasked to steal Caine or the Circus program as a whole from C&A but got dragged into it instead.

The Jax NPC Theory stems from the fact that at the end of episode 2 Cain says that if an NPC got into the circus something really bad would happen and so that sparked the idea that one of the characters is a NPC and people were kinda split on if it's Zooble or Jax but after last episode people are pretty use it's Jax. He breaks the 4th wall, he seems unbothered by his Digital situation and is the only character last episode to reuse to tell us what happens when he holds his breath.

We know that next episode is going to be about Ragatha and then episode 6 will be about Jax, with 7, 8 and 9 being unknown as to what they'll be about, I predict 7 will be a Caine episode while the last 2 will be a sort of 2 part series finale where we get all questions answered such as, what the Circus is, who all the characters are as humans, the secrets of C&A, etc.
