It’s a chicken or the egg situation because the only reason so many series are like long movies these days is because studios hate/are afraid of actually trusting their artists and audience in building trust with the long form storytelling tv was meant to facilitate Nobody wants to be left on the back burner so people make shows meant to be shorter, so if things get cancelled, not too much was lost and no one, even the staff was too invested Literally why the Scott pilgrim anime Aired as it did. People and staff WANT the 26 to 40 episodes seasons man Tell that to the studio execs pissed new cartoon 17173739303 that they never marketed isn’t making spongebob money after the first week 💀

It’s less that and more a thing people only do out of fear of cancellation Big wigs don’t trust their artists or their audience anymore to take them on the kind of long format storytelling journeys tv was literally made for anymore So artists bend to make ends meet so nobody gets too invested, audience and artists. It’s literally what happened with the SP anime The chicken or the egg They want the money of these big projects without wanting to take the time and patience to get them there So they never make as much as they want because they endlessly want more and can only see art as dollar signs

Before I watched the original Ted film for the first time I thought that the premise was that Mark Wahlberg's character's wish in the beginning of the movie (Ted becoming alive) would have only come true much later when he was an adult. Then I thought the film would have been centered around Wahlberg trying to deal with the existance of Ted.
@Longshanks16902 ай бұрын
I think that would have been terrible because there’d be no reason for Johnny to keep the bear around. The reason Ted works is because they establish that they’ve been best friends for so long and that’s why he puts up with his incessant antics, you understand why Ted is the way he is and why Johnny keeps him around because he feels he owes him. But if he just came alive and started doing that? I think most people would kick him to the curb instantly, more for his behaviour than being a talking teddy bear.

Peacock's biggest ace in the hole, though, is that they have a huge back-log of hundred-plus episode series that people want to keep going back to. You'd think they'd want to play to this strength, and give their audience a series they can look forward to every year. With Netflix, they're working with a much a larger scale, so it's easier for them to create a massive series from scratch, because they have more resources and are selling to a much larger base. They can pretty much guarantee hype right off the bat, so there isn't a reason for them to develop a series past the third season. With Peacock, they have opportunity to create a series that Netflix actually struggles with: episodic and formulaic series.

"Who could possibly have thought that a Ted Cartoon was a good idea?" Well... Seth MacFarlane for one. Way back in the 90s, he pitched Ted to Fox as an animated Series. They said no. So he rewrote it to be about a suburban family And Thus Family Guy was born... Stewie's stuffed bear, Rupert, is a reference to that fact... an easter egg for those in the know. Years later, almost two decades in fact, the Original Ted pitch was made into a live action film. Its worth noting, however, that Brian's entire character in the first three seasons WAS Ted, just rewritten as a dog instead of a living Teddy bear. Stewie and Brian's entire Relationship was born from the initial idea of a kid and his bear... turned into a boy and his dog... then turned into what it is today. So Ted: the animated series IS LITERALLY Ted coming full circle.

I won't be confused, especially if Ted S2 goes towards the animated show or just becomes that & Peacock saves money. All the Streaming platforms really dont have to spend movie budgets on TV shows, but odds are Peacock will just focus on the cartoon. And Seth better be working on it, otherwise they cannot make the series without him. And the main joke with Ted would still work. Look at a Brian, no one bats an eye at a dog talking, walking on two legs(except that one episode where Brian getting the same rights as people, was taken to court) AND getting with human women(seriously, they never acknowledge b-stiality when it comes to that. Unless newer episodes have) even though there are regular animals around.
