Let's be honest, every single one of those roles he turned down were played by better black actors (Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker).
@Slim14232 жыл бұрын
Every movie role isn't meant for every actor. If a actor has something in common with a specific role, they may play it better than others. For example Jamie Foxx knew how to play a piano at a early age, plus he knew how to imitate people from doing comedy sketches, and that may have greatly contributed to his success in the movie "Ray". I used to like to see Christopher Reaves play older Superman movie roles, and other actors didn't seem to play Superman roles as good as Christopher did. I liked Wesley Snipes as "Blade", he really nailed that role. I truly believe there is a specific role that a specific actor can play better than most other actors, but most likely it will be due to that actor having something in common with that role or something that actor admires about that role, to succeed at playing that role.

Hes struggling with some unresolved emotions. Even in those interviews, notice he makes sure to say the "right" things, but hides his true feelings regarding the questions he was asked. I clearly remember being a waitress and having men pinch my butt or give me a hug too tight, or stick my tip in my shirt between my breasts or kiss me on the mouth.. but we brushed them off and knew they were tipsy and just would say things like "Alright Mr. Peters thats enough! Go home now!" and sent them on their way. I never knew it was sexual harassment or that it was something they could be jailed for and certainly never thought about going to the police. I remember my boss staring at my boobs whenever I would go in his office or hear them talk about banging women after work and it was just normal. It was creepy but I just rolled my eyes and would walk out. I'm not condoning what they did, they were wrong in their actions ...I'm just comparing the times.

I liked him a lot since BOYS IN THE HOOD. He was a great actor back then. Now, he has become just another Hollywood lost soul because he thought himself too powerful.. Gooding Jr. forgot that he is merely a novice newcomer in the Hollywood game. He turned down important roles and he burned himself out with the powers to be. Powerful white men know how to put you in your place quickly once you rock their boat. I hope that you have learned your lesson Cuba. Don't forget that as a Blackman you are always the last hired and the first fired. Moreover in the modern political white supremist scenario, you are just another example of the replacement theory. Open up an acting school in Compton or Bed Sty , Brooklyn and ingratiate yourself with the disadvantaged communities that have always been your principal supporters. Good luck, Gooding Jr. Be a survivor and don't let the system ruin another talented Blackman.

I read both Sydney Poitier's and Diahann Carroll's autobiographies recently, and I don't have as much respect for Sydney as I used to. He was a narcissist who cheated on his black first wife with Diahann (who was also married). He was controlling and very possessive of her and would become physically violent for no good reason. His father wasn't very nice with their mother. when he was growing up - very abusive during his drugged out days before he left Main Ingredient. Just look at Sr.'s backstory - also he was leaving Charlie Murphy's funeral when he was found in the car with more drugs on him that Tony Montana would have. This has had a profound effect on Jr.

The real truth is Cuba knew that he wasn’t good enough to play roles with such a range and definition as well as recognition. He was looking over his shoulder waiting for that moment when everyone says really you think you’re that good and he wasn’t willing to do the work. He couldn’t receive it, thus he couldn’t believe it.

On June 13, 2019, Gooding was booked on charges of misdemeanor forcible touching and sexual abuse in the third degree in New York City relating to an incident in which he allegedly groped a woman at a bar in Times Square.[22] On October 10, he was indicted on a separate, additional sexual abuse charge.[23] As of August 2020, 30 women have accused Gooding of unwanted sexual touching.[24][25][26] Gooding was formally charged for three incidents, each resulting in misdemeanor charges of forcible touching and third degree sexual abuse.[27] On April 12, 2022, Gooding pleaded guilty to forcibly touching a woman at a New York nightclub in 2018, telling the judge he "kissed the waitress on her lips" without her consent at the LAVO New York nightclub. He also admitted to the two other alleged incidents of non-consensual contact, which took place in October 2018 and June 2019.[28] The plea deal that Gooding reached with prosecutors called for no jail time, and it allowed him to withdraw his misdemeanor plea and plead to the lesser violation of harassment as long as he continued counseling for six months.[29] On August 19, 2020, a woman filed a lawsuit against Gooding accusing him of raping her in 2013 in New York City.[30][31]
