I've come off hormonal birth control after almost 10 years of being on it. I live in the UK and had 3 Nexplanon implants, which each last 3 years and are inserted into your arm. I've always been super Heath conscious, been vegetarian, vegan reduced chemicals in my life and just constantly striving to be natural and healthy, so I don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner to consider coming off hormonal birth control, like I didn't even realise there was another option!! After very irregular/non-existent periods for the last 9 years (I'm only 24 now) I literally can't remember what a 'real period' feels like and I am really looking forward to getting my periods (and my entire body) back to a healthy state. I have totally binge watched all of your videos, I find your content so informative and helpful. Thanks to you I just purchased 'Taking charge of your fertility' and can't wait to educate myself more on FAM. I have also bought a menstrual cup after seeing your videos and I LOVE IT (again though, why did I not know about these sooner?!). I am currently adopting the Sympto-thermal Method, even though my body is still getting used to coming off the hormonal birth control I wanted to get myself into the daily routine of charting my BBT, Cervical fluid and position. I may not have a healthy cycle at the moment but I am working on it and you have given me the tools to do this. So just wanted to thank you so much for everything you do - Keep at it Victoria, we need more women like you in the world 💕

Robyn Armitage ohemgee !! You are the first person that I’m finding that had Nexplanon & talked about getting off. All I have heard people talking about are the pill & the copper IUD. I have Nexplanon as well but haven’t had it for a year. My boyfriend is really pushing to get me off of it but I was/am soooo scared to get pregnant right now (we are heavily sexually active) so I’ve been “hanging” in there. After binge watching videos myself, I’m considering FAM but I’m just so nervous that I won’t be responsible enough & I also didn’t know if Nexplanon was a concern like the pill or IUD. Main point is that your comment has influenced me heavily to get off so I thank you & good luck to you !

iMakeupJaz I know not many people talk about Nexplanon - I've really struggled to find info about coming off it too. Don't get me wrong, I am not overly concerned about pregnancy, I've been with my partner for 8 years and we are very stable but just not planning on starting a family quite yet (pregnancy is always a risk if your having sex) So just make sure that you do what you feel comfortable with and maybe take extra precautions like using condoms and abstaining during your fertile window until your confident using FAM and until your body/cycle gets back to normal after coming off Nexplanon. Good luck to you too 😊

Hi Victoria, Before getting my IUD I read about the lady comp something I really wanted to try one day. I was 19 years old then. Today I'm 23 years old and I just got my IUD removed. I gave me so much tummy aches awful. I've been very anxious about the IUD and I got it removed today. We talked about it for months and we finally made the final discussion this Wednesday. I'm so happy for your videos. They inspired me to remove the IUD. I've bought the lady comp in April. I've bought the taking charge of your fertility in May. Really excited. Thank you Nadine.

It took me two years after learning about FAM to muster up the courage to quit the pill. I was mostly really upset that I had no clue about this and the system is set up in order to make sure I didn't! After working through that I knew I had to do this for myself. One day I dove into KZbin looking for more information and found you! You really helped me make the change :) I then went out and bought TCOYF and started charting with Kindara. It was confusing at first but I've been off the pill for five months now and my cycles are starting to regulate. I've cried tears of joy for this! No looking back now. I'm so grateful to finally take back my health and my body :)

I also suggest beginners to get the daysy! I love it and it’s helping me learn about my cycle and temperatures while still feeling safe, as I am using it as a way to prevent pregnancy. :)

Victoria has been amazingly helpful in answering my detailed questions via email. Recently she was on vacation and yet she answered all my questions. I am so so grateful to her for not only offering this course but being patient and detail-oriented to ensure that I understood and can follow the chart your cycle method diligently. I seriously cannot recommend her enough. I have already told all my girlfriends about her and the fact that she cares so much to make sure that you can follow the method as your birth control method means a lot. I didn't know going into it that Victoria will be so helpful patient even a year after I signed up for the course and answer all of my emails (we've a chain of 40 emails you guys 40 haha) this is serious and Victora understands that seriousness. I appreciate her thoroughness and patience beyond words! So, sign up for the course with her and do your mental and physical health a favor :)

i'd like to thank you so much for what you're doing. I am catholic and here in my country it's so difficult, because people keep telling you how natural family planning is a great thing, but noone actualy tells you how do you do that. I mean they do, but on classes that are expensive and if you're not from the capital city and you can't realy go there often, makes it even more difficult. I feel like any other form of contraception is more availiable. ps. your name is just like my daughters :)

Hi Victoria, what do you think about starting with the app Natural Cycles? I'm an absolute beginner and the app seems to be a simple way of beginning but would you recommend it for beginners? Thank you for all the wonderful info on your channel !! xx

Just in case you're still curious, this app seems to predict future fertility based on past fertility windows so it's basically the opposite of what this method is about. You have to listen to and understand your body and without an app or with an app you will know when you have ovulated and can safely have sex

Anyone have insight on tracking BBT if you work night shifts? Some days I wake up at 8AM or maybe earlier or later. However if I have to work night shift, I wake up in the afternoon. Will tracking my BBT upon waking be inaccurate?

prdaAndy Yeah I personally don’t understand why one can’t simply use FAM with Celsius. Seems to me as the same thing as saying, you won’t be able to use FAM if you don’t speak English. Fahrenheit and Celsius are just different measurements of temp, but they’re easily translatable.
@Jasmine-hy9vn

in taking charge of your fertility they just have different charts due to the different temp values but use the same method:)

J asmine I've read this book translated and they actually changed everything according to the language (Measurements, celsius etc...)
@Jasmine-hy9vn
@Jasmine-hy9vn 6 жыл бұрын
I read the book cover to cover (except pregnancy-related chapters) and then scanned the document that applied to me from the back. There was only one set of rules in the book the only thing that changed was the units for temperature (with celsius the temp increments go up by .5 compared to .1 in farenheright). I have the book and just pulled out the charting sheets to double check and other than that they look identical in terms of the charts

J asmine Yeah I mean in translation they added stuff like "this product is not available in the country but you can do this in that"... this sort of changes I was talking about. And yeah celsius, I have no idea how fahrenheit works lol

From what I've seen it has some issues. It only tracks temperature and the "safe" days are off if you check them against what the safe days should be when following an actual temperature only method.

I have been off the birth control patch since February. I have charted my temperature and check cervix and cervical position. I also take ovulation test to confirm and use a barrier method if I am in that window, the ovulation test just confirm it for me. My cm is not always that stretchy egg white. My biggest thing is my dates range between 28 thru 34 days between cycles. It feels all over the place but I know my body is trying to level out. Plus terrible acne at 27 sucks

Hi Victoria, is there a method that fits to women with an e-regular cycles? (Cycles of 65-125 days)
@OliveB69
@OliveB69 6 жыл бұрын
I have super irregluar cycles since getting off of the pill in March 2017 and Ive been using Dasysy and charting with Kindara since then with no problems :) My cycles have ranged from 41-109 days. If you use Daysy you'll just get less green lights until your cycles become more regular, but I still get at least 20 green lights per cycle, and with regular STM charting (i also use kindara to chart) it doesn't matter how irregular your cycles are, you just follow the normal rules such as using protection once you begin seeing any sort of cervical fluid, and staying protected until P+3 and 3 high temps have been observed :)
@maayans.181
@maayans.181 6 жыл бұрын
Olivia Reinhardt Daysy specifically say that it fits only "normal" cycles (up to 45/60 days if I remember correctly). And my body temp' is never balanced, nor my fluids. So frustrating!
@OliveB69
@OliveB69 6 жыл бұрын
Mui S I believe Daysy only says that because you’ll get a lot less green lights if your cycles are long, but you’ll still get some, and every green light you get is 99.3% safe. As long as you are temping consistently and correctly, you’ll at least get a few green lights every cycle! But email their customer service if you want. They are super helpful :)
@OliveB69
@OliveB69 6 жыл бұрын
Mui S Temp Drop could be another awesome option for you if you have irregular temps when you wake up. It’s an armband you sleep with. I believe it takes your lowest temp. That way if your temps are up and down for some reason, it’ll always take the lowest one. It’s good for people with inconsistent sleep patterns.

What is the actual effectiveness of FAM? On planned parenthood, I've seen that it's somewhere around 85% effective whereas in videos talking about FAM and websites selling BBTs, they say it's 99.3% effective.
@blakea.e.1681
@blakea.e.1681 5 жыл бұрын
That 85% statistic has to do with "typical use" so not using it the way it's meant to be. It is 99.4% effective when used properly and is only .3% less effective than condoms used properly.

@OliveB69 6 жыл бұрын
You can still use STM with irregular cycles! :) Mine range from 41-109 days and I have used STM for a year without a single pregnancy scare or any problem at all. As long as you are tracking your fluid and temping daily, you'll know when your fertile window starts and ends even if your cycle was 2,000 days long.

I’m really disappointed you still haven’t addressed some of the conditions that wouldn’t allow for FAM as an option. I paid and took your class and ended up having another surgery and being hospitalized because I have severe endometriosis. If I’m not on hormonal birth control I’m literally bleeding internally and having contractions. Not cramps. The scarring from all this may have already caused me to be sterile apparently. Why do you refuse to acknowledge us? And no, this isn’t something that can be fixed by diet or exercise. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF AND ACKNOWLEDGE US!
@emiliarivera7682

What type of acknowledgment would you want? For her to say a disclaimer before each video saying "As with all other birth control methods, this is not for everyone, make sure to do your own research and consult with your doctor before you change your methods." It's about common sense and taking agency for yourself- She isn't at fault for what happened to you.
