We have local go cart tracks were you can take lessons but I'm scared people will judge me. Ever since I was like 4 and saw the movie "cars" for the 1st time I've been fascinated with racing but most of all speed, I want to go fast. When I was 4 my parents put me into swimming and I've now been doing it for almost 10 years. We are literally the same.. As of now I’m a 15 year old girl, and I want to be a NASCAR driver. Wow, what a rush! That was my first time physically typing it. I live in a place where local tracks are scarce- instead, there is a tech obsession where I’m from(programming, computers, etc.) I like math, so I guess that field of work acts as a safety net for me, and that’s strengthened by the fact that both my parents are software engineers. But you see, that’s the thing... I like math. I like computers. I like software: but I LOVE cars. It’s the only thing I’ve ever loved. I’ve never felt this passionately about anything else in my life, and I assume you feel this way too. It’s why we have to try. Try to race, because it’s what we love. And why do something other than what you love? We’ll be dead a whole lot longer than we’re alive, so why not do something that’ll make our life worthwhile? Make yourself proud, follow your dream.

Racing is most definitely not an equal opportunity sport. The financial barrier to entry is so great that I'm willing to bet that if racing was as cheap to get into as say Basketball or Football that 99% of the best drivers wouldn't even make it past the Varsity highschool race team.....if it had little league, middle School, highschool & college racing. Here's the math. There are over 40 million kids who play in little league/middle School football, there's over 1 million playing in high school, 70,000 play in college and of these 1,700 make it to the NFL. If racecar driver's really had to compete with a significant amount of the population like in baseball, football & basketball there would be an entirely different field of professionals & racing would have a bigger fan base than the NFL or NBA because true love & admiration of the sport comes from every little kid having the chance to compete in it.

I am 12 and I started racing simulators when I was around 9 and around when I was 7 I started renting karts. I wish I could actually race at my local track but the issue is money. Lol. If you are like me you should get a decent sim racing setup because it is cheaper than actually racing.

@@flexxinent3604 a sim racing setup is gonna consist of a chassis to mount everything on, a steering wheel, pedals, and if you want to do nascar a shifter is recommended. You can also run VR or screens. I run VR which is hands down the most immersive experience and many people (including myself) swear by it. A great sim for NASCAR driving is Iracing.

Geno Brown yes hone your skills every minute you can. I’d start with iracing. Get yourself a decent computer and the Logitech g920 and the shifter with that too. Then get iracing and buy some cars and tracks. Then eventually move to America. Near a NASCAR track.
