All soap recipes will create a soap dough but some work better than others. I have been tweaking my soap recipe for almost two years now and have finally found that perfect combination of ingredients and technique to create a soap dough that works like a dream.
Today I am going to show you how I make it and use it.

I bought Lisa’s extruder but haven’t been able to use it because my soap dough doesn’t hold together , my black was sooo sticky, and it would crack and tear as I tried to extrude stuff. That purrrrrple!!! Sooooooooooooooo beautiful!!! Excellent video on soap dough making! There are only a few of them around and yours is definitely in the top! Also, what a great way to use up micas that aren't favorites! I have a whole box of them that I bought for resin art that I never used. But for soap dough, I think they'll be the perfect thing to use up. :)

Congratulations on finding a great recipe for soap dough! That's awesome Keeley! I use Mad Mica's Wicked for my black soap dough. It's truly black as coal and gives your dough the same consistency as any other mica. Ttaking away the grit of activated charcoal. I use only Mad Micas, so I don't know if that is true of other black micas. It's very nice of you to share your recipe for your dough. It is a huge challenge to work out! Maybe getting some of the black mica from Mad would be a good investment, I don't know with shipping. That's a whole nother discussion, lol! Jill Gross

Wonderful looking soap dough, can't wait to try it as these are all the same oils as my recipe too. The Fimo extruder you used does it take 23 or 24mm discs as I have the same one. But all my rulers are slightly different I think and I can't get a proper read on the disc size

Soap dough is regular soap with no fragrance i use my reg. Recipe works fine you have tou work with it everyday

All soap recipes will make soap dough - its simply uncured soap. Some just make it better than others.

Will the soap dough stick to soap that is already cured ?

Yes it will. I usually scratch the top of the cured soap and use water to make it adhere

@@SoyandShea oh no I was asking in general i brought premade soap dough before and it was super sticky. I haven't brought the recipe yet but I tend to. By any chance do you sell premade soap dough.

@@mrsjoy8831 I know what you mean. It took me 2 years to develop this and ensure it was not sticky. At this point I haven't got the dough for separate sale but I do intend on doing that later this year. I just have a few other things to do first

What temperature did you start soaping at?

@@SoyandShea my oils where around 80 degrees f and my lye was was at 98 degrees f.. Or higher I think thats what I did wrong, my temperature was to high
