looks fabulous!! i love scrubby soaps (Sandstone from Lush was my first and, so far, favorite scrubby soap). I love using coffee as an exfoliant; i save and dry lots of my grounds to add to my face wash or shower gel to get some extra strong scrubs when i need it. cheapest exfoliant ever, seeing as one is using trash/compost, and totally safe for our environment. beautiful soap design and im sure it smells AMAZING

Another bonus To coffee soaps is they Pull stinks out of skin like nothing else can! Hubby used to help an older farmer(who had PIGS-and a stable cleaner almost as old a he was, so broke every morning, consistently. Snd *someone* had to fish the broken paddle out of the pigcrap so the cleaner would finish the rest of its loop..you cam guess who that was...he got told to strip his coveralls and boots in the shed, wash in the porch and USE the soap supplied until ther was no stench left, or don't even think of sitting at MY table! The rest of us want to keep our appetites...) coffee soap was the only soap that could pull that stench out of his skin without removing several layers first! Got so every farmer around was lining up to buy bars as they ere avsilablé! Or their wives were...🤣🤣🤣💞👏👏

We don't list all of the ingredients on our site since the fragrances are specially designed for us, but if you look at the "specifications" tab on a fragrance's page, you can look at the allergen and safety reports for more information on them.

Freehand soap cutting is definitely a learned skill and Anne-Marie is one of the best! Sometimes using rulers on either side of your loaf can help, or pre setting your cutting line with string across the mold after you pour your batter.

With all due respect, been doing something similar for years, called it my "working man's soap" and just did it up for my fiance at the time...then I had to relocate to a city 2 hour's drive away for medical treatment. Everytime he came down to visit(every weekend) he'd request as much soap as I might have made since I'd last seen him..and he'd take it home with him...now being a farmer, he often came in with tractor grease on him, among other much smelling odours..he'd help almost anyone with snything, including one farmer who was retiring" at the end of this year" for the last 8 years...🙄🤔 but he insisted on keeping his pigs, and having darling help him(because no one else *would*) and EVERY time, his stable cleaner would jam up, because it was OLD and the paddles that scrape along and push the manurevout along the gutter and up to the chute to fall off onto the manurecpile, never failed, EVERY DAY, ONE PADDLE WOULD BREAK OFF AND JAM THE CLESNER, SO THE WHOLE PROCESS STOPPED UNTIL THE MISSING PADDLE WAS LOCATED AND REMOVED FROM JAMMING THE WORKS UP, SO GUESS WHO WAS RILLING HIS SLEEVE UP AND FISHING AROUND IN THE SLOP TO FIND TGAT STUPID PIECE OF IRON? GETTING THAT STENCH SOAKED ABOUT 3 SKIN LAYES DEEP IN HIS FOREARM?! THEN WALKING INTO THE KITCHEN EXPECTING HIS BREAKFAST? HED GET NO MORE THANBTWO STEOS IN THE DOIR, AND EVERYONE'S NOSTRILS WOULD CLAMP SHUT! YOU HAVECTO KNOW PIG POO- HIGHLY ACIDIC, UREIC ACID, THERE'S NOTHING ELSE THAT REGISTERS ON THE SCALE! SO, I DELIBERATELY EXPERIMENTED TO FIND THE BEST INGREDIENTS 🤔TO COUNTER THAT STENCH WITHOUT scouring his skin to the bone...and I found it in the used coffee grounds.🤫😅👏 it works to remove the stench, possiblybthe most very external layers skin where some stink and poop had sunk/been ground in, and very little more of the callous that he needed to keep to protect his hands in doing the rest of his day to day farmer stuff. BUT IF HE WANTED to remove more, say we were going somewhere and I'd be wearing clothing that might not tolerate those farmer calloused so well, he'd just scrub a little longer to not ruin my finery .. The reason he was always asking if I'd made any soap while I was down at my daughters? He'd letvhiscuncle have a bar (also a farmer, not quite so helpful to crotchety neighbours, but with a very discerning wife who promptly decided if he could get himself destinked that well once, he could do it EVERY time! So HE WAS BEGGING IT, AND PAYING HUGE CHUNKS OF CHANGE FOR BARS of it, then their son started using it too, found himself engaged, didn't dare stop using it...and so the legend spread...and rippled into larger and larger batches being shipped home.. lye water was made with leftover coffee from the single pot made in the morning, the grounds from that morning were added to the batter, and that was it..and simple vegetable oil from the grocery store to complete the batter. It was crap brown, absolutely no attempt to make it pretty, cut in plain rectangles with a knife, after being poured into an 8x12 old cake pan(picked up from value village because of its size and low cost-yes, I'm cheap, *very* cheap) and cut with a very long bladed bread knife, also found at value village. Again, grabbed because it could cut from one end to the other of that block, from that pan in one press, no need for expenses when a simple repurchased knife would do. And boy was that man RAKING in the sheaves! He'd gone on ebay, seen what a single bar of handmade soap was selling for...decided he liked that fine and if people were willing to pay that, he was willing to take their money...when I found out what he was doing, I flipped, asked him about insurance etc..he said he called his farm insurance broker, who said the policy should cover anything of the sort...I told him that that soap hadn't had the proper cure time...and wasn't ready yet, even to share with his batty mother who'd just love an excuse to string me up by my fingernails...he said HE was the one selling it, SHE'D havevto take him to court first, and I said, if she thinks she can get to me through you, she'll do it. Stop selling the soap! To whìh he reolied" I can't, I've already got 20 dozen bars sold...I need to get them out A S A P. Can you get those done real soon? "So and so paid for his 4 weeks ago and I haven't been able to give him more than 2 bars!" So I wàs stuck...and managed to get him the paid for amount, told him NO MORE SELLING!" And 3 weeks later he got eaten by his combine...and when I spoke to his aunt, SHE asked me if I knew where he'd been getting the soap he'd been selling, she's been being pestered because there were an awful lot of men whose wives were unhappy with the state of their hands again. If I could maybe find out she'd sure appreciate it, in fact she'd like to take over were he left off and restart delivering again...🤔🙄I told her I'd see what I could find out, but really, his records and everything else *should be* with his body...if they could find his cell phone(mysteriously disappeared, although he called 911 himself the night his combine snagged his bootloader and started reeling him in...and none of the EMS crews could find anything.. so pretty much a dead end, no pun intended. But I was 2 hours away, really nothing else I could add...

@manjula70107 ай бұрын
may i know the water ounce thats not mentioned this video...
@bramble-berry7 ай бұрын
For this recipe we brewed 12-14 ounces of coffee using distilled water (the extra accounts for any lost during this process). The strength of the coffee is up to you. The stronger it is, the darker your soap will be. In this recipe, we used a normal strength, which resulted in a rich, dark color. Then measure out 11.3 ounces of coffee into a heat-safe container. Allow to cool to room temperature.

Oh my goodness why aren't you using a mask!! So it's OK to not wear a mask , I always wear one so I don't smell that lye. Is it OK to breath that in ?
@bramble-berry Жыл бұрын
Some makers like to wear masks so they don't breathe in the fumes. Good ventilation will also help you avoid breathing lye fumes. That can be as simple as opening a few windows, running some fans, or using an air purifier. Some makers also like to mix their lye solution outside.
