Love the bar size of that mold and the colour of your soap was perfect. I also love the mounding on top, made them look so delighted!

I can't wait to try this recipe again. I tried it last year recalculated for a loaf mold and something went very wrong. As I added my fragrance my batter totally split, leaving an oily mess floating up top and a brown pumpkin sludge at the bottom that wouldn't reincorporate, no matter what I tried. I was so sad it bombed, because it smelled so nice! Try, try again though
@bramble-berry Жыл бұрын
Oh no! Sometimes there are fragrances that really don't behave in soaps or will cause the batter to separate. Maybe try another scent with your next attempt!

Pumpkin in soap is awesome.. love it been to two markets no pumpkin.. if I use fresh pumpkin cooked .. will there be a difference
@pandapanda83544 жыл бұрын
Cooked fresh pumpkin is more watery than the canned stuff. Maybe cheese cloth it a bit to achieve the thicker consistency of canned.

Liked this video so thumbs up. How to cure it.... Room temperature... In Window opened airy room... N till how long it supposed to cure. How about shelf life of this soap. Please advise.
@bramble-berry4 жыл бұрын
You want to leave the soap out at room temperature. Cold Process soaps usually take 24-48 hours to harden, 4-6 weeks to cure! For more information on shelf life, we recommend checking out this article: www.brambleberry.com/articles/tips-and-tricks/art0078-shelf-life-of-bath-products.html

I bought the project, but sadly, the pumpkin soaps all turned dark brown, even after following the recipe to the T ! It was beautiful at first, the color and scent but within 4 weeks, it was dark brown, not sure if I want to sell it...all the other recipes turned out great ! wanted to post a pic, but no way to do that here.

What's the shelf life of this soap?
@bramble-berry2 жыл бұрын
We recommend using this soap within 6-12 months of being made. A good rule of thumb to know is that your soaps last as long as the shortest shelf life of your ingredients.

Everything I've read says don't mix lye in glass, so why does Anne-Marie use glass?
@nancyblake74254 жыл бұрын
I believe it is because it heats up so much and can break the glass. I prefer glass to avoid static and am just careful. :)
@jennifergamble32724 жыл бұрын
@@nancyblake7425 I read that lye can etch glass, because it's caustic, and that will create weak spots.
@feliciarenz65804 жыл бұрын
Lye breaks down the silicone dioxide in glass. You can use glass, it needs extra washing to ensure no residual lye remains. If you use a dishwasher after hand washing that can clean it well enough. However, glad is absurdly heavy compared to plastic

I don't quite understand... the Pumpkin Spice Fragrance oil on Bramble Berry's website says it isn't good for cold process soap! Quote from Bramble Berry's Pumpkin Spice Fragrance Oil on their website: i.gyazo.com/72d3c9e6a3fdae9d44c45f9b0eef7923.png "**Recommended for Cold Process: no** Recommended for Melt and Pour: yes Recommended for Bath Bombs: yes" I haven't been able to do anything cold process with Pumpkin Spice fragrance oils because all the websites says it isn't recommended for cold process! Is the word "Recommended" very much useless if Bramble Berry itself isn't following their own recommendation or is it something else I'm not getting? Can I be filled in here as I'm kind of frustrated now...

Ahhhh much love. Hey, does anyone know if this scent is gender-neutral? it sounds so cozy :)
@pandapanda83544 жыл бұрын
Tbh, it really depends on the buyer/user. I’m a Black American man and I personally dont give two shits what anyone assumes about me based on my grooming. HOWEVER there are plenty of men who are extremely concerned about if strangers think they are homosexual or perhaps showing any minute trace of what they consider feminine. Because we live in a sexist homophobic society, it can be physically dangerous if a man is assumed to give off even a hint of gay or womanly vibe. Basically what I’m saying is, it smells sweet/sugary and vanilla. A male user/buyer who lives around violently anti woman and/or anti gay community members would most likely not use this soap scent because it does not adhere to traditional sexist definition of a “real” man. Sadly that’s the world we live in. It’s just soap but...violence is real and must be considered if a man wants to avoid personal injury from other men.

Please, please, please tell folks to NOT use glass measuring or mixing bowls to make soap. The glass is still a liquid and the lye will eventually weaken it and the glass can shatter. Explain that you only do it for purpose of demonstration and really shouldn’t. And OMG, NEVER, EVER mix your lye in glass!!!
