Having the balls is truly so difficult to achieve. It's like there is a barrier that my mind just will NOT allow certain interactions to take place. Cold approaching, starting conversations, things like that. It feels near impossible to break.

This is great. When I'm around people I get so anxious my brain completely shuts down, and I act extremely strangely. I can't hold back the embarrassment and rumination after.

This is the impaired function of the prefrontal cortex due to the stress response. It's a normal part of SAD. The key is to managing the bodily tension and trying to stay relaxed enough to keep blood flowing to the PFC.

Super glad you mentioned releasing the holding patterns, yes, exposure isn't just putting yourself in the situation, if you do and you still use somatic or psychological defense mechanisms you won't decondition your mind fully, you have to let go of activating your muscles and not do other such things to prevent you from feeling. A general thing I heard many including Peter Levine say is that exposure is way more effective if you focus on your bodily sensations. Another thing he thought of was when you're looking down in shame, say, you look back up, and in each notice how it feels, that reprograms your brain in a way.

I have a performance at university next week I'm terribly scared, i can't talk infront of all thoe people i suddenly feel dizzy and lose ideas, what should i do ?
