This is so awesome!🙌 I come from a small church where I'm a youth leader and handle all media for our congregation. From going to busy busy to nothing has been hitting hard. Our church is not participating in live streaming services and I've felt the need to do and create more social media to still connect with our community. It's a bit hard when you're handling it alone but I'm so thankful I've came across this!!💛 This really lifted up my hopes. Thank you !

Thank you for using "he and she" in reference to how a pastor is doing. It's a small thing, but makes all the difference for the women in ministry who are navigating this as well. :)

Thank you! While we've had social media for our church for some time, we have lacked engagements. Over the past 6 months, we've worked to rev up our interactions. Yesterday, we posted the simple question about the Oatmeal Cookie, in 15 hours we had 61 comments and 123 engagements. This was primarily on FB. We didn't have as much interaction on IG. You are definitely making us better. Thank you again!

Brian Jones LETS GOOOO. And next time...try that post on IG Stories instead and use the poll feature to turn it into a true or false. My guess is you see increased engagement that way.

Thank you so much for these tools! They are phenomenal. We had just put our toe in the pond of going online when this pandemic hit. You have filled a vital information gap for "What do we do with this tech now that we have it?" and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hey Brady! Thanks so much. Since COVID, we've been posting a whole lot more and are beginning to feel our free social scheduler plan is too small. Do you have a 2020 update for best social management platforms?
@prochurchtools4 жыл бұрын
We use Buffer. But I also schedule and publish most of my social posts natively on the platforms themselves.

Thank you for all your great content and help in this unsettling time. I love all your ideas for social content. My question maybe naïve but what do you do once you have connected with people? Meaning after you've posted content and people have responded to your post; then what? Should you personally reply to each comment? If so is it just a reaffirming statement or the opening of a dialogue? Or is it enough to just have people responding and others reading or seeing those comments?

What's a few good software suggestions for live church services. Right now, we just do straight iPhone X. If we have a month left to go, I'd like to run it through a laptop so that we can put graphics on the screen. Thanks.

I posted a post on both Facebook and Instagram. Facebook did a lot better so this might be a post for Facebook better. Facebook Post: "We miss you! Post a picture of you and your family in the comments" Instagram: "We miss you! post a picture of you and your family make sure to tag us" People loved it on Facebook. On instagram they had to post it on their feed and tag us, maybe that's why not a lot of people posted.
@prochurchtools4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the barrier to entry for that on IG is considerably higher - thus, fewer responses.

Thank you so much! This is awesome and so helpful as always! Now a question, where/how do you recommend posting these ideas within these platforms - we’ve got a FB page, a FB group, and an Insta account? I get stuck on what should go where. I tend to stick to these more personal posts going only to the FB group to keep everyone connected... But would you recommend the other areas as well?
@prochurchtools4 жыл бұрын
The Fri/Sat/Sun posts likely will work best on your FB Page and IG Feed. Mon/Wed in IG Stories and FB Feed (Group + Page). Tues/Thurs work for all three.

What should the differences be between what we post on church pages, pastor pages, and church groups?
@johnfoley55024 жыл бұрын
Great stuff man! Learning a lot here as a pastor. Do you have any ideas about connecting people to giving. We set up text to give and we’ve had a button on our site for people to give for a while. But the giving thing hasn’t transitioned well. Any ideas for addressing that without coming Accross the wrong way online?
@prochurchtools4 жыл бұрын
A couple of ideas: 1. A giving campaign (maybe 10-14 days in length) themed around staying at home, but still making a difference. 2. Use custom giving links. So with RebelGive for instance, you can create a custom GivingFlow Trigger Link (help.rebelgive.com/en/articles/3021592-givingflow-triggers) that automatically populates a certain gift amount to a pre-selected fund. You could purchase a custom domain and redirect it to this link and then use that next step call-to-action for all giving-related communication while in-person gatherings are suspended.

Hi, I was curious as to whether you have recommendations for handling worship via livestream. Our church has been using Zoom, and we noticed in the beginning that even with the worship leader sings in the stream. there is a delay when the congregation who is watching from their homes start to sing too. Meaning, if everyone is singing, then it sounds really unorganized to say the least. We tried the following service to just mute everyone but the worship leader so that everyone can sing from whereever they are but it just seems like watching a worship video on KZbin. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

We had a similar issue when we rehearsed for Service using zoom, so our solution was to connect external speakers to a device that played "Fly Worship" (an awesome worship app we had used many years ago in our youth church), while we had the lead singer sing along live. All other participants were muted on zoom It worked great!

I always get confused about this regarding the audience. Is this for parishioners or others? Should this be posted on the church's FB page or their group page? Both? Does it matter? Should you consider audience?
@prochurchtools4 жыл бұрын
For Page/Group/Feed content like this - organic reach is going to be low beyond your existing online audience. For content that is meant for the purposes of outreach, you'd want to lean into paid promotion for that.
@ourusalife4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Do you make any distinction between what you post on a church page compared to a church group page? Should a church gave a group page?

Do you anticipate any disruption with live stream, Facebook, KZbin, etc with the increased usage during the COVID-19 crisis? Especially on Easter Sunday with so many churches doing online services?
