I think first indian who established indian newspaper was gangadhar who cam with bengal gazate in english... Bengal gazat- 1780 by j.hicky Bengal gazat - gangadhar bhattachrya in english indian Bengal gazat -harishchandra in hindi

Infact It was not socio religious reform movement but S-R degradation movement led by Indian britishers.They disinterpreted our Dharma intentionally to present it as britishers wished.Very strange paradox is that none were called scholar until approved by britishers.Even they used to certify our vedic scholars and very unfortunately we still read those british approved so called pandits.
