Thanks for the video. I’m new to cpap. My mom has the older SoClean model, which I’m not supposed to use with my machine. Your video clarifies for me why the new one is ok. I think I prefer the closed circuit of ozone through the tube.

Great presentation. I would appreciate comments comparing the SoClean 3 to the 2. Mention the 3 does not cycle through the Cpap water reservoir, plus it is more labor intensive in that with the 2 you put items in the unit without having to disconnect the hose. I think I'm going to miss my SoClean2, which gave me 9 years of service. The 3 is also wider, so bummer with my small night table.

Thanks for the demo, this is very helpful. Do you put in your cloth headgear along with your mask? That was the one thing I was not sure about.

What about sanitizing the reservoir also? Doesn't that need to be done too? Will this need a repeat operation and another hour & 15 minutes? Thanks
@CPAPmyway10 ай бұрын
This is not geared to handle the reservoir. You might can make it happen, but it is not set up for that.

Do we leave the water in the Humidifier Chamber or empty it before connecting to SoClean 3👍

You can leave water in there.

The SoClean 3, you now have to disconnect and then reconnect the tubing from the reservoir every time the SoClean 3 is used. The 3 also takes up more space on my nightstand. I dont have to do this disconnect/reconnect my SoClean2. So, what is the advantage of upgrading to a SoClean3? I already have a usb connection on my wall outlet.
@CPAPmyway9 ай бұрын
I am not sure that I would advise you to upgrade unless you like the feature of not having the adapter connected to your CPAP machine.

I’m wondering if this is to prevent the companies from invalidating the warranty on the machines. I was told not to use a SoClean device because of potential harm to the motor. The 3 would take care of that issue because it’s only running through mask and tube.

What about the basin that holds the distilled water? Can you place that in there also?

So the SoClean 3 doesn't clean the water chamber? It looks like the CPAP is totally disconnected.

That is correct.

I used the SoClean original with my Resmed machine. I loved that it pushed ozone through the machine and water resovoir. This obviously does not do this, probably not needed though since there aren't any instructions to actually clean the machine except the filter and resovoir. In fact my new CPAP machine states that an ozone machine used on the equipment voids all warranties. I guess this is why I have not gotten a new SoClean since it will void my warranty. Although, I really doubt it will do anything to it since it didn't ruin my last one despite using SoClean for 9 years on it.

I saw your answer for the reservoir. How do you clean the reservoir? By hand?

Surprised to see that the ozone hose no longer connects to the CPAP machine. I have a ResMed 10 with water reservoir. Disconnecting the hose is an inconvenience now since my hose connection is fairly tight. CORRECTION. Connecting to the ResMed 10 is the same as with the SoClean 2 with the ozone hose connecting to the water bath. The filter check valve is not necessary.

Is there a way someone could make a filter for a bpap that has a menthol smell to it that helps support breathing and of coarse the smell in the air. When I go to bed. Everything is clean. The air quality is great in my room due to having a dyson air purifier machine. But the smell through my mask while wearing it smells so bad. So I wash it constantly or just replace the hose or mask but after the first night after washed or replaced then it smells again. So I thought well maybe if that made a filter that is odor fighting and different menthol smells just as original or cherry menthol or orange menthol. Not only making the smell that the air passes from the air through the filter better but still performing just as good as a current filter.
@Blackattack795810 ай бұрын
Or maybe even putting drops in the distilled water that is menthol that helps with breathing and smell

Let me save you people $300 after realizing that no matter how much you use it or do not use it at all your filters have a chip in them. That makes them stop your machine every six months. Mine has been in storage right after replacing filter now, Filters is no good. These are nothing but filter selling gimmicks. Mine is in pieces against a crown concrete wall as we speak, do not buy so clean machines go back to cleaning by hand. It was save you tons of money not counting just a $300 investment but they gonna stick it to you twice a year on filters regardless if you use them or don’t.

Why wouldn’t you use it daily?
@lllmmm357210 күн бұрын
@@cathymunn4036 there’s no need to use it daily. I wish I could link you to it, but I saw it a long time ago. There is a video on here from somebody who worked in a hospital cleaning devices. He said there is no reason to clean your CPAP machine every day. I have been using CPAP for 17 years. I only clean my machine once every couple of months, and I’ve never had any problems. I also use water from a zero filter picture. Zero filter is a brand name. It removes all solids from the water, so there is no residue or buildup like you might have with tapwater.
@lllmmm357210 күн бұрын
Thank you for this comment! I will stick with my so clean 2. I wondered if they might be putting some sort of nonsense technology in there to make you use their filters. Just like the ink, printer manufacturers, they want to force you to buy their product when you don’t even need it. It’s ridiculous. You don’t need to use this machine every day. You don’t even need to use it every week. This is just an attempt at thievery
