I have a bipap machine "Resmed curve vauto 10" and I've used the lowest pressure available for exhaling: 4cm pressure support of 2. I have played with PS with different values, 2, 3, 4, 5, up to 6. Inhaling is always a great feeling, but exhaling is so hard. I'm new, and I wonder if the mask is the problem? I'm using a brand new nose mask "Fisher & Paykel Brevida". Any ideas?
@CPAPmyway44 минут бұрын
Nasal Pillows like the brevida can feel tough to exhale through. However I think that you might should check out a video that we just released that may help you. Link below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpjRYnqpaJqmgLs

I think that we are pretty clear on that one. LOL! We are a self pay company only. We are not the insurance route. We are way quicker, easier and pleasant than multiple doctor visits and follow ups. But not for everyone.

I supervise a sleep therapy dept and use a CPAP personally. This mask has been amazing since I started using it! Really lightweight and soft to the touch. Also, like you said, it seals so well even with some higher pressure settings!! Sometimes I wake up and get concerned briefly bc I don't think I'm wearing it till I come all the way to lol High marks all around from me.

Thank you for the info. I had a really hard time taking the screen off to see the filter. I notice in your video at 6:37 when you took the screen off , you broke the plastic cover. I managed using a screen driver for the first time.
@CPAPmyway41 минут бұрын
Yes the first few times it feels like they have glued that dang cover one there. I feel like over time it gets broken in and easier.

Thank you sir! I recently bought this machine used for the other sleeping room and googled how to change these settings to adapt it for me and my mistake was to google it in German. All I could find was comments like „this is strictly forbidden“ and „go to your service partner“ and „you need experts to change the settings“. Again, thank you for making life a bit easier.

The headgear tightens up as soon as I get it on. Is that normal? Or is it supposed to lock in a position set by the user? You used words like "autofit headgear" and "pre-built tension level" which results in a white crease mark across the bottom of my nose (the "columella"?). My nose has a lot of structural cartilage separating the nostrils. Is there any way to adjust the tension?
@CPAPmywayКүн бұрын
There is not a way to adjust the tension. Are you using the pillow or the cradle version?
@wishiwasvulcan23 сағат бұрын
@@CPAPmyway Thank you for replying. The nasal pillows all (several brands including Brevida) irritate my nostrils and disturb my sleep. The nasal cradle/cushion style is much better for me. But even the cradle-style is too tight with the Solo headgear. Maybe they'll have an update that allows for some adjusting. Currently I'm using the ResMed Airfit N30, which does have an adjustable headgear, but it has the opposite problem of the Solo in that the headgear keeps stretching out after I tighten it, and everytime it is further tightened, the part of the headgear that separates into 2 straps gets shorter; eventually there will only be 1 strap, so the headgear will need to be replaced frequently, which seems wasteful, expensive, and (for me) anxiety-producing.

I use a ResMed S9 AutoSet, and I’ve removed the water tank, so the humidifying part is now empty. Benefits: I don’t need to refill the water every day. I don’t need to wash the water tank every other day. No more unpleasant smells from the water tank. I wake up without water on my face. Cons: None so far-everything’s been great! But I need scientific advise on how often should I clean the humidifying part. I just don't clean it now.

I am trying out the Resmed N30i after using the Philips Dreamwear for many years. The back head stretch is shifting up significantly causing leakage at the nose cradle. I am a man with short hair cut. Is there any other solution besides growing a pony tail for a couple of years? I have a big head, using the Philips L size frame. So, maybe the standard frame size of Resmed is too small? From Philips I currently use two different frames with different back head solutions. One is the hard plastic one shown in the video. The other one has a stretch similar to the Resmed one and with both I hardly have any creaping up issues. So, that does hint me a sizing issue. I did read about someone getting the hard plastic Philips one connected to the Resmed frame. But to be honest, as a huge sweating in bed man, the back head stretch is the main reason why I buy new masks couple of times a year. At a certain moment washing the stretch reguraly doesn't do the job anymore to get the smell out. Further the Resmed is a great mask. Very quiet compared to the Philips one. Better fitting nose cradle causing less leakage, if the back head stretch stays in place. Softe sides of the Resmed mask is easier than the softening fabrics Philips adds to the mask. The reliever of the elbow with the mask is good, but the Philips connection piece between the elbow and hose is easier to use wich makes that a bit easier for the Philips one at nights to go to the toilet. I do think the connection of the nose piece with the mask is better done at the Philips mask. But overall the quietness is the main difference in favor of the Resmed, if the back head creaping would not be a potential "deal braker" for me.

Well I used and still using the same memory foam mask for six months. Use mask wipes daily and once a week wash the mask in soapy water, no problems. I do see a small deterioration at the top of the mask with no problems of leaking. Headed for seven months.

I liked the F30 features, but I could never get the leak below 20 no matter how I adjusted the straps. I switched to the F&P Evora Full. It seals quite well, but it's lacking in every other way. I'm tempted to try the F40.

Thanks for the helpful video! How can I see how many hours I slept with the cpap on during a night? I do see something that says "compliance" but no explanations of what this means (I assume it's a minimum) or how to access actual hours slept. Hoping I don't have to fiddle with the card/ or some reader/cell phone, etc. to find this info. The compliance always shows 7 hrs. This is not particularly useful to me.

I've this mask for about 5 months. It is the first one I've ever worn. It is great and easy to maintain. I have been having issues operating the whole system just this week. At first I thought the problem was my settings on the machine. Then thinking about it, I starting looking at the mask for the issue, especially when breathing out and a lot of air noise. Thanks to your video I was able to fix the problem. It was the asphyxiation flap, which I did not know existed. It was pushed open and must have happened while I was cleaning the mask. Just realised this after you talking about the flap at 4:00 ... I can go back to having a good night sleep again. Thank you.
