@@Ruthannzimm I have studied this video so many times. I have read the recipe over and over. I cannot seem to make this in a half recipe to get two loaves out. Is it possible to freeze the dough and bake off one loaf at a time? If I froze the cooked loaves my family would go through the loaves faster than I believe I’d be able to make it. Maybe after a time they would be fine to eat it at a normal pace. If not, I can always purchase frozen vegetables and use the empty bags to hide them. But I’d prefer to skip buying store bought frozen vegetables.

Hi Ruthann, I recently found you on KZbin and I sincerely love watching you and your family! My grandmother was raised conservative Brethren in Christ (came for Mennonite background). I was raised on a dairy farm in PA and I miss that life so much! One of the things I especially LOVE about your channel is that you and your family LIVE while filming. You don’t edit out the kids when they walk thru or when they’re heading to bed. Please don’t ever change that, it’s part of draw to your content; at least for me! It’s real life and I love that! Thank you so much for inviting us into your home and life, sharing your experiences, thoughts and ideas. It is so very appreciated ❤ Be blessed! God is so Good!

Your voice is very calming and your background music is pleasing. I feel bad that I don't immediately give you a like. I do go back and listen and eventually give you a like. I have learned so much from you and it saddens me that someone dared say you sounded "uneducated," the knowledge that you possess is undeniable. Thank you so much for teaching this! My husband was raised Amish but I didn't come from religious family. Thankfully I did have a christian grandmother! One of my sister in laws gave me a potato flake sourdough starter and for about 6 months I was making that kind. Until my youngest daughter that has DS dumped my starter. I made my own pf starter and did a few loafs some successful others fair. But I tasted a ladies sourdough at church and wanted to make it with the flour starter. I was feeling frustrated with the teaching on making it until I found your teaching!!! My husband had been feeling like I'm working on this too much and I don't think he felt it was worth the time it was taking me. But this evening he ate a piece of my sourdough bread and actually seemed to like it!!! I'm so very thankful for your teaching on this! Also wanted to tell you that we lived in New Hampton Iowa for 2 years around 10 years ago! Thank you again!!!

In many ways, I almost envy you for your upbringing and teachings from your mother and grandmother. It took me a while to learn how dough should look or feel when it is right, or to figure out more efficient ways to do things. I have had sourdough starters in the past, but ended up neglecting it and letting it die. I am inspired to make another starter and try again. Turns out it was my water, which nobody believes because it was filtered and there’s a healthy bit of skepticism in the bread baking community that even unfiltered water with chlorine can truly harm the starter. Well, it can. So can filtered. Soon as I switched to bottled I finally had success.

Its soo easy to just take out as many as you want and let them thaw an hour or 2 before baking. I coat them with olive oil because they dry out pretty good. We just got our cow processed so i don't have any tallow at the moment. Im going to use eggs vs butter today. I already have 3 loaves in the freezer so I'll make a bunch of dinner rolls for turkey day 😊

Thank you for showing us your breadmaking video. My sourdough making is evolving as i watch many videos. I only so two rises so maybe that is the answer to a lighter texture bread. Thank you so much!

this looks wonderful but your original crusty sourdough recipe is what I am looking for. from the picture or your original crusty bread at the beginning of your soft bread recipe is what I am looking for the one your family didnt prefer.

When I use this tiny amount of starter to feed, I add the water to the jar and shake. Then add the flour. Love your routines!

I am not sure how you came to my feed but i am so thankful. I am about a year into my sourdough journey and you have made such a great recipe for a soft bread. Cant wait to try this one.

I have been so afraid to try breadmaking. But, you make it look easy! Going to give it a try.....will have to learn how to make the starter first! Thank you.

Boys have a hollow leg, had 4 of my own, and when they were young, I made a lot of sourdough bread, and it helped fill them up. I always say, nothing beats the flavor of warm sourdough with butter on it and honey. It is a unique sweet n sour flavor I love and miss as I cannot do gluten anymore. I miss making it.

You have an amazing flower & vegetable garden, grounds & view. I’m dying for a Bosch mixer. You’ve taught me so much & how do you do it all. Great family. Thank you for sharing.

Really thankful for your sharing . I am retired and am trying to live and teach a more sustainable life. Never made bread and looking forward to this and canning as well. I have watched different videos about canning and you are by far the easiest to listen to and understand. Thank you!

I make a small loaf of sourdough bread about every 2 days as I'm alone now! Back when my kids were home, I baked MANY loaves each day! I made cinnamon raisin for breakfast bread, and regular bread for lunches & supper. I now make it without any fats, as I love the crusty outside, and holy inside. One thing I hadn't done since all 7 kids were home, is build the gluten after putting the starter in.. It's a great idea, and I'm sure it will make my life less tied down to the stretching and folding! Thanks for these great videos!

Some of my favorite memories of my mom from when I was younger was making bread and then dipping the bread in fresh cream and topping it with tomatoes slices from our garden tomatoes. My mom would add some fresh thinly sliced onion from our garden too to hers. I still make bread now because of my daughters soy allergy as the soy free bread is usually quite expensive. So I alternate with homemade bread when I have time. Now my kids are the ones helping with the baking. I’m hoping they have the same good memories as I do.

I enjoy watching you because you are such a happy person and your love of God and your family shines through. Thank you. I live in Louisiana and have just started making sourdough bread. I know there is no eternal value in making homemade bread but it is so much fun and joy when it turns out beautiful and tastes good.

Wow the best bread I’ve ever made I had to turn down the temperature and decrease the time because I have a gas stove but the last two loaves came out amazing I also had to let it rise for 24 hours and let it rise for 2 hrs before I baked it but by far this is the best recipe thanks so much Everyone loves it My search is over it’s been a long road but I’m so grateful for your recipe ! Thanks I recommend this recipe to everyone!

Never seen the triangle method of forming the loaves. I'm going to try that! Looks a lot easier than using a rolling pin. Really enjoying your content! 🙂

Oh My Goodness! Those grilled cheeses. I will be making your version of them this week. But on store bought bread, a loaf of bread goes bad in my house before it gets eaten so I buy it for something special, like grilled cheese.
