I am one of the 9 who never spoke of the abuse. My abuser was my 4th grade teacher. Even worse, he became my brother in law (married my sister)! I also fell into patterns of despair and defeat. I am 50 years past the abuse now, and I still harbor that pain. Thank you for telling your story. It helped me.

Same!!! I have a ton of admiration for you and your fight, Clark. You are so easy to listen to and so easy to be inspired by because you're being sincere and genuine. Anyone who thinks you're a fool simply doesn't understand, it's nothing you can change, only life can. Please ignore any negativity. I am a 72 years old female who is still haunted by the pain of my molestation by my own father as a child but the one thing that hurts me the most and always will was my mothers disbelief, her accusation that I had lied and thus ruined her marriage. A bullet to my heart would have hurt less. We never really made peace with that before she died. I believe Clark, every word.

@@clarkfredericks3309 I looked for a way to email you, but couldnt find. So, here I am. Clark. I have a brother that has served 2 sentences, one for 10 years, for pedophilia. I vowed I would never speak with him again. I did not want to ever see him again. I have written him out of my life until a seasonal event occurred. I am the lone sibling taking care of my 89 y.o. mother with dementia at an assisted living. I also have adult children who need help, I had to retire from nursing. Lots of other storms for the last 5 years seem not to let up in my life. A brain tumor, my brother committing suicide, Yada, Yada, yada. It's likely going to shorten my. All the stress and trauma. My brother is let out of prison and wants to have time with our mother before she passes. He has been very helpful by keeping an eye on her. We started talking. Something I vowed I wouldn't do. He has helped my adult son navigate incarceration from a negligent homicide case. (An unimaginable tragedy). I am really on guard about boundaries. My son even worried whether he should even talk to my brother. I told him it's his choice and whatever is said does not suit my son's higher purpose then let it go. I feel torn. I think I will not continue the relationship with him when my mom passes. We shall see if he continues speakimg with my son periodically. My son is the one doing most the calling when it comes to legal matters. My son I speak of was sexually assaulted while living on the streets. I am a victim myself. So we are very sensitive about what he did with other children. He feels he served his time for his crimes, is in therapy by choice. But I can't shake this feeling he is grooming me, as an adult, so he can keep up a relationship. I am the only family member left that allows contact. I feel mixed up. I will talk to my therapist about this. Not sure if I have a question but just want some perspective of the best thing to do. All my best. Agnostically yours in common love of our fragile yet resilient nature.

I just watched the first video with Clark and cried my eyes out. I cried for that little 11-12 year old boy, I cried for the angst filled teen looking for redemption from horror that was not his fault, I cried for the young man that destroyed so much of himself because he couldn’t silence the trauma and yet couldn’t put words to it either. I cried for all of the survivors. I cried for myself and my traumas that I’ve never spoken of. I cried for the guilt I have for not speaking up and there being more victims because of my silence. Thank you Clark, thank you for your bravery to speak of the things we’ve been threatened and shamed into silence. Be well my dear.

He doesn’t sugar coat recover from addictions, sexual abuse, his personal demons, his family’s trials and tribulations, and his incarceration. He helped me realize better that there are good and bad times, ups and downs and we take each day to try and do better, be better, give to others in their struggles. I love how he answered when Mark asked him what was the most important lesson he had learned in his life - he said it so perfectly, and simply…Love. ❤

I am an athiest and I would never tell you that you are a fool. Faith comes in many forms. It's whatever you find that helps you heal, makes you stronger, and gives you the structure in your life to move onwards and upwards from whatever trauma you are recovering from.

You motivated me today to get a few wins in first thing in the morning. I’ve been insanely depressed lately. My baby at 6 months old was abused by his daycare owner and she went off and made 5 other victims. We are all involved in a huge case now. I have so much rage and anger. I’m not using but I’m so lost. I have no identity as a person and it feels bleak. I live for him so I can protect him but I’ve lost touch with myself. I think of your first video often and so glad to find this next one. Thank you for bringing me some hope today.

I'm the biggest atheist ever: my parents didn't want me to believe in Santa Claus, which made me an absolute non-believer when it came to religions and that sort of thing. But it would never occur to me to argue here about the merits of faith! Clark, if it works for you, good for you! I'm so happy to hear that things are going well. Thanks for the motivational message, I needed it. I'm between jobs and I really let myself go. I spend my days watching KZbin instead of using this free time to complete my goals. But that's how I discovered this wonderful channel. What stories... It's so informative. Yours is one of the most impactful. Love from France

As you say, having a foundation to fall back on is everything. I’m so sorry for the loss of your brother, may he now be at peace. Thank God for you and God bless you. I have seen soo many SWU interviews and for the first time I just have to comment on it - just saw first and the second interviews and oh my, Clark, thank you soo much for putting your heart in front of us and articulate your whole life in such an amazing way. I am soo touched but also inspired at the same time, your purpose in this world was obviously greater - to point out to those monsters, to stricten the legislature, to draw light to child abuse, to help some to speak up and some to recognize signs with their children. I am sending you a lot of love and hope that one day I will have a chance to shake your hand and hug you for a moment. ❤

Clark ❤ Your story 😢 the first video moved me to tears seriously I had to stop driving pull over to the side of the road and look at your face as you told your story You have so much wisdom in you and what you have gone through would have utterly destroyed 99.9% of the population But you said something important in the first video and you kind of allude to it here. And that is FAITH and faith is something so intangible and it is completely a Grace I am truly sorry for everything that you’ve gone through. I’ll give you my most utmost respect and I also offer my condolences for the loss of your brother. As I was listening to this second part the follow up video and you were telling me about the seasons of life that is life. Nothing lasts forever ( well only one thing)… No bad thing last forever no good thing last forever and so we must be grateful for the moments life is exactly what you said it comes in seasons it comes in waves I am not joking when I started jumping up and down in my kitchen with glee to know that you are still together with your sweetheart. That you guys have weathered the most inexplicable horrific situation and I promise I’m going to pray for the two of you that you guys make it that you guys can find a level of happiness within one another because I believe that you deserve nothing less and neither does she… To see someone you love being so much pain and be unable to help them is like torture , I am very glad that you were able to find each other again. And on a side note Being a New Yorker I kind of like your chains lol 😂 that’s what’s up !! I hope that your story continues to illuminate the world to the darkness that is within our world and that this world can understand that the darkness does not last forever. ONLY LOVE DOES (Love is willing the good of the other, it is sacrificial) And so as I see in your videos that you like to have motivational phrases… I’ll leave you with this one i’m paraphrasing Dr. Martin Luther King: Hate cannot destroy the darkness only love can do that I cannot wait til your book comes out ❤ Dios te Bendiga!!!!!! And to Mark thank you for the work that you do this channel is life changing

Which I was very excited you saw my comment. Your strength and survival will always be remembered by me. Hope to see you again on here. I'm a recovering drug addict myself. I've been clean for almost 4 years. From opiates. So I know how hard getting off drugs can be. But it was no surprise that you were able to get off drugs, knowing everything you've been thru in life.
