I love how Herbie and Pat give each other space. Guitarists and Pianists can sometimes struggle to play together though masters know when to drop out or play softly. I love this band more than life.

Tillery: Dave Holland continues to be one of the best jazz bassists. Hard to believe he's been playing jazz since the 1960s, challenging all the musicians and drummers he's performed with to play even better than they usually do.

I saw the same tour in Milan few weeks later, at that time I only knew Pat Metheny and Dave Holland cause I had a cd with Pat, Dave and Roy Haynes. After a couple of tunes I said WowI who's playing the piano? I remember some audience watched me saying Are you kidding?!? what the hell are you saying ,,, That concert changed my life ! The combination of Herbie Hancock and Jack dejohnette at 4:12, they intuitively connected and it rings in my head every day. U don't get that often. Jack dejohnette's drumming is out of this world

I dreaming to see these guys together again. Specially Herbie and Pat is my favorite musicians. And this repertoire is good: 9 over reggae, cantaloupe island, indigo dreams, jack in ... I searched different concerts of this band, because I wanted to hear different solos of each melody. They are super great. Interesting, how these guys together will sound now.

Robert Langer That show in Toronto was at Roy Thompson Hall. The tour was in support of their album Parallel Realities. What I remember best about that night was the other shows that was going to happen later in the night. Mike Stern at George's Spaghetti House & Eric Johnson at The El Macombo. I was fortunate to see this show and cabbed it to be in time for Eric Johnson. A night I will never forget.

Reminds me of Tony William's drumming on The Sorcerer album. Appropriate considering Herbie. I even hear Herbie play some phrases I recognize from that album. That's cool, I guess in a way it's a slight homage to Miles Davis's memory since he made the tune his own, or so it's said.
