hello team, we have a flat roof in South Australia so from my experience we didn't find a negative in production with a friend on a slanted roof over the year I think we actually bettered their overall production. The thing we noticed in the solar positive months like Oct to March we actually produced more. The winter months because it was overcast or raining the flat roof still performed well enough to fill a solaredge battery and deal with our day time use. A big pro was the shading across the roof. Being flat and only 30Cm between iron and ceiling the heat reduction was huge. We used to turn aircon on when the day was 25+ c to now turning it on on days 30+ c later in the day. Another pro is yes they get dirtier slightly faster but they are really easy to get on the roof and clean. A third positive was the roof being flat seemed to give the installers more space. This allowed us to chuck on a couple more panels. Another positive was it was cheaper for the installer to do because he didn't need all of the safety equipment hire. You mentioned roof issues. We have not seen this after 14 years but I guess it might be different as we have a really low rainfall. I hope this helps with people considering a flat roof install but of course it also depends on your roof and where you live.

Thank you for this information. Are your panels mounted flat or on racks at an angle? Is your flat roof made of concrete/something solid enough for installers to stand on without any fear of damage or something more delicate?
