Sold as a 6hp but really it's a 3hp China Diesel engine unboxing and first start

I've seen this listed as both 3hp and 6hp. I got one to try on my hay elevator at the farm and it replaced the 5.5hp gas engine without any issues. I think it's an honest 3hp, but every other engine manufacturer over rates their engines. Some list it as a 6hp because it's equivalent to other 6hp engines. I'd be interested to see how 6hp Briggs, Honda, and Predator engines actually dyno.

That tachometer was really cool. I’ve never seen a 6hp little diesel like this. The upright 10hp yanmar and yanmar copies are somewhat common.

I have the same motor except mine is labeled as a 4HP and it's orange. Putting it in my mini bike soon once I find a mini supercharger for it.

That's what I thought as well. It is a little beefier that a GX clone though. And the provisions for the pump on the side. And a very heavy crank shaft compared to the gx style motors. More rings and bigger rings on a much more heavy duty piston as well. but side by side they are very similar

Nope they actually put out 6 hp I dynoed mine. It's all injector timing and enrichment on diesels. With a small turbo you can get almost 9.5 hp. I put a rhb30 on mine. I'm getting 3.5 to 7 psi boost.

It's all in the Injector timing and fuel enrichment and leaning. I dynoed mine , got over 6 hp. Learn something about diesels before making assumptions . Cc,s dont always equate to horse power. 196cc is more than capable with the correct tuning to produce 6 hp. Plus the torque is insane.

I have one with over 790 hours on it. You still think they are junk. One of mine is on a compactor it runs 5 days a week. They are good motors .

I would suggest some good oil like Rotella T4 10-30 . And change it often . The off road diesel soots the oil fairly quickly , the pump diesel keeps the oil cleaner longer not sure why, maybe impurities in the off road. Just fyi.

U might got a defective one did u do the break in procedure on the engine when u get it u can’t just run it or do like these guys done Reving t up like that that hard on a new engine I think they are good little engines I don’t have one of these but I do have a 10hp one on a welder it runs good Has lot of power it a beast of a engine
