Bigger tarps are great in my opinion. Gives you more space to cook or sit. If it’s windy it’s key to set it up properly as you know. When expecting lots of rain take a piece of paracord and do a drip line at the end of your hammock. Then you have no worries of water making it’s way down and into your under blanket or hammock. Thanks for sharing. Take care and stay safe.

Regarding your use of the 5m tarp, I use the DD 4x4 as my main tarp. I am going to purchase the 3x3 to add to my equipment. The main reason I use the 4x4 is for the coverage it provides in conditions just like those in your video. I can hang the 4x4 in A frame-with or without doors or in diamond configuration to get 5.65m of coverage! The larger tarps protect better agains heavy rain; sideways blowing winds etc. and they provide so much more walk-around space when one is not in the hammock. So I think you made a good choice to increase the size of your tarp to 5 meters.

Dan, time on your own is time to be cherished. Listen to a audio book or a podcast. It gives your brain time to reset without new information coming in. Your own company is the best company you can have, you just need to adjust to it. I love socialising with all my mates and never want the night to end. But to have time to myself is my greatest pleasure where I get to do what I want for a while. Great video and great rain sound. And the 5m tarp was the perfect size :)

GREAT VIDEO and over here in Colorado USA I love the accent! FYI... The wind screen around a canister stove like 14:07 actually becomes a heat trap and it can cause the check valve to pop or the canister to explode. There are several websites that tell stories of that happening. Leave a gap for air to go in and some heat to exit like 18:06. Another thing... add two water breaks, one on each end of that orange ridgeline or it will drip water down right in the middle. It will do just what the tree straps are doing.
