Solo leveling is off to a good start. Storywise they did good at the start as a reader i know where solo leveling falls behind. If they keep it up it's going to be good. I hope they don't go full on original with the storyline that would be disaster. Everyone is going to say that artstyle looks inferior. As for the first season, of course it looks. I don't think it's going to be that crazy in terms of animation. But i think we will get 2-3 highlight action episodes.(since staff is pretty good) If this gets popular near to the level of kny or jjk i think they will do pretty good job in upcoming seasons.

I'm still gettin used to Solo Leveling (manhwa being almost 6 yrs old) in anime form but I thought it was a nice intro to the anime series as well. I love that they added the first friend of Yoonho that died in the Jeju raid and I hope they give more spotlight to the other characters.

I'm going to be honest; I really enjoyed the episode. As someone who was indifferent towards the anime(I found Solo Leveling to be disappointing in how it ended. Though, the side stories were decent), I was impressed with how much it displayed. I don't know if it's strictly from the Light Novel, but I liked seeing more of the world of Solo Leveling and not focusing on Sung. Especially the opening battle we saw which was neat. The character models themselves ranged from good to meh. They aren't the worst designs but I do think they could have been a bit tighter. Action wise, the series is good and having Hiroyuki Sawano of Attack on Titan fame composing the OST is never a bad thing. Seriously, the guy is basically the Hans Zimmer of Japan with how he approaches his OST. All in all, a pretty solid episode for a hopefully good adaptation of the material. I'm hoping Solo Leveling success can get us more adaptations of Manhwa because there's so many good ones.

I think they should of did a two part special because they showed a lot of people and things in the first episode that was for manwha readers and many people won’t like get it

Have you read Latna Saga Survival of a sword king and hellper(Season 2 is trash though)? They are underrated manhwas that are good. Let's hope Solo Levelling anime doesn't get anime only ending.

Read helper, dropped during season 2 actually. Sword king in a fantasy world is great. Don’t think I’ve read Latna though, I’ll check it out

Think the ant island in the start was totally unnecessary. if they didnt put that in they could have ended the ep 1 on a higher, more better note.

This episode was boring, couldn't care less about any character. Quite a bummer, maybe too much hype caused it to be DOA.
