As a Norwegian, I apologise for the weather gods dealing you so much rain. It is common on our western coast, but it is truly a spectacle in good weather. Still, you have captured some gems and been to beautiful places I have yet to visit. Thank you for this video.

I was last year in august in Norway, from Oslo to Bergen to Alesund to Trondheim. I would say it was the best time spent in my life. The nature gets to your heart and I know I will be visiting it again in some years. Thanks for getting potencial ideas where to spend time next time, cheers with beer, :).

Ah...this video...I will be in Sweden for 6 months for a student exchange and I am planning on visiting some countries nearby. Probably going solo most of the trip including Norway and haha this video just put a huge smile on my face. That Eggen restaurant looks stunning! Definitely need to check that place out. Huge relieve that the public transit is reliable. Still unsure about Bergen but definitely planning on visiting Oslo and Andalsnes
@BadSloucher2 жыл бұрын
Bergen is a long train journey (almost 7 hours each way from Oslo) but it's so scenic. It's great if you have lots of reading to get through and you don't need WiFi or connection to distract you. But you'll be distracted by the scenery 🤣

Thank you for sharing your journey! I’m also a software engineer in search for more adventures in life and this has inspired me to go on my own trip to Norway (potentially… we’ll see 😁) I’m curious about accommodation. Did you book a hotel room or Airbnb in the cities you visited? Cheers 🍻
@BadSloucher Жыл бұрын
Yes I booked hotels for every destination through booking.com. In Oslo, there is a decent budget hotel called Citybox that I mention in the video which I still stand by as a recommended accommodation option.

You're welcome! Paid with credit card everywhere but some train station lockers needed coins. Used a no-foreign-exchange-fee card.

i love this vlog so much!! i am heading solo to norway in 2 weeks time to Oslo, Kristiansand, Bergen and Andalsnes (a special hotel called juvet). The transports looks crazy outside of the cities, how do you buy bus/train tickets? Do you just do it on the trains/buses itself? I found that there were too many train/bus operators and not one central app/place for me to look at what to buy and how, would love to hear from your experience
@BadSloucher2 жыл бұрын
Look into vy.no/en I booked all my long distance train tickets with the Vy app. When traveling within Bergen, I used the Skyss app. When traveling within Oslo, I used the Ruter app. Within Åndalsnes I walked everywhere and didn't use any public transit (everyone drives or walks there). I always load credit cards to the apps and have them ready to purchase tickets when I arrive at the cities. Buy your Vy train tickets 1-2 months in advance as it can book up quickly
