Donkeys are used to protect the herd whether it be cows, alpacas etc. They are ruthless against coyotes.

I like Nathan's and Hebrew National. I can say along with brats they have to be a go to for people camping that aren't creating content. I never even bother with chili because of the mess and needing to heat it up. Some onions and a good spicy horseradish based brat mustard is plenty. Some salt n vinegar chips with beer and you don't have anything to clean up. This trip has really produced.

for the petroglyph dates: the darker, faded, and sloppier pecked designs are much older and probably early hohokam or anasazi culture. The lighter colored, more geometrical, and cleaner pecked designs are probably the pueblo or o' odham culture which was more recent. Maybe even the apache

Fun fact.....taco doritos came out in 1967 as the 2nd flavor. Plain corn dorotos came out in 1964. I actually remember trying them for the first time. LOL

Loved the ancient paintings on the rocks. The walk to them looked like it would nice. Seeing the cattle reminded me of a camping trip with my cousins where a cow came up to my tent about 4 am and lay down outside near where I slept. Scared the crap out of me!

I grew up in that area. Be on the lookout for poisonous scorpion, centipede, and, of course, rattlesnake. Where you're located is miles from help, Bubba. Oh, and those are range cattle, and they are dangerous too. You can also get turned around real fast and lose your way back to your truck.

Mr. CMQ, Keith from Georgia here. AWESOME video!! I have never been to New Mexico. That scenery was spectacular! I do think you may be have been out on the road by yourself a l-i-t-t-l-e too long. You're talking to cows and donkeys, and trying to debase these poor, defenseless creatures by offering them a Coors Light! 😆😆😆After reading many of the comments, it seems you had a birthday while you were filming this video, or near that time. Happy Birthday, belatedly! I'm gonna have to look up arroyo, as I don 't know what it is either. The dirt area you first went in to, looking for the petroglyphs, could that have been a quarry area of some sort? That's what it looked like to me. The petroglyphs were AMAZING! I wondered if maybe the Mayans drew them. Please tell Mrs. Lady Quady we said "Hello", and send our thanks to her for saving the day for the video with getting the directions to you for the petroglyphs. Los Alamos has a great museum for the Manhattan Project, and ABQ has a pretty good Museum of Nuclear Science and History (feat. in an episode of Breaking Bad). Best BBQ in the state is at Mad Jack's in Cloudcroft. The VLA - Very Large Array (between ABQ and Las Cruces) is definitely worth visiting as well. Getting to the top of Sierra Blanca would def be a great vid (Ruidoso, can take a gondola most of the way up).
