Greetings from Devon Neil. Great video of you in a beautiful area. If I go out the back of my house and look into the distance I can clearly see Hay Tor. Beautiful. I count myself very lucky. I agree, Dartmoor is big and beautiful but is very challenging even with the right skills, knowledge and kit.

My childhood navigation cherry pop was the New Forest around Burley, Ringwood and New Milton area where my parents retired to. There were so many places to go and much of which I travelled to by bike, I went through a few bikes. I learnt to navigate very young as we're a military family with links to all the services and cadets was a revelation to me, we went everywhere. I knew the A303 & A35 like the back o' me hand. My kids grew up North of Bristol and we camped out in Gloucestershire a lot as well as Devon Somerset, Cornwall - where half of my ancestry is from and Wiltshire which I knew from being a sprog. I never went to Dartmoor until a training exercise many years later.

A very reflective inducing video!🤔How I wish I could be back to 1981, just left school, my whole life ahead……….present day…….slow creeping arthritis in hips, country gone to……well, actually, probably not much better than then in some respects, mass unemployment, Thatcher in full stride……..Oh dear……I’m off to bed for the next……..😬☹️🤷♂️🤣

@greencraft4783 fair enough! I don't drive myself. Too much of a plonker to learn! I did have a go, but was terrible! I used to go everywhere by train, but now I am trying to get back to cycling everywhere? Had a few injuries lately.
