Kipped at nearly same spot a couple of weeks ago , was a beauty meteor shower and super moon lighting up valleys and blae tarn , no wind , no midges , just a beautiful atmosphere

I laughed at this! Last Thursday I went up to Lingmoor fell peak from Elterwater, and was on the look out for somewhere to camp the following night. On the Friday (6 days ago), we climbed back up toward Lingmoor fell peak but from the Blea Tarn side, up toward Side pike then following the stone wall. Ended up walking half way down toward Elterwater looking for somewhere to pitch, that was flat, not too boggy, not too stoney, with a bit of a view, but most of all, somewhere slightly sheltered from the very high winds. It was well into dusk when I found a suitable site!

Ironically, I'd watched alot of your vids to try & help me decide which peak to go for, but I don't think I watched the Langdale one fully before i went away & I stayed in an airBnB two nights before staying up on Lingmoor fell, & it was the owner of the airBnB who had recommended Lingmoor. When we approached it from the Blea Tarn side, I suddenly knew where I was because each time we have been to the Lakes, we have driven through the Langdales & past Blea tarn - its one of my favourite spots. Our Pitch ended up looking down toward Windermere Out of interest, how much does your pack weigh on your trips? I had a load of camera gear, & I weighed mine when I got home - 19kg....that is my excuse for being 'knackered' (Chur-Ching)!!!!!

@@TheLDunn1 haha. My pack typically weighs between about 11 and 13kg. Depends if I’m carrying or filtering water; or if I take any 🍷 😁. Obviously it’s heavier in winter 🥶.

Saw your comment about you getting less viewing figures, don't take it to heart, I'm guessing because we are now out of lockdown, people have stuff to do and don't need to rely on being stuck at home anymore, so obviously they've changed their habits. I got my 3 dayer done taking in 12 of them big lumps with the funny label 😂😉 was pretty frazzled in the heat but kept swimming & rock pool dunking when poss… your vlog round Blea Tarn keeps panning upto Loft Crag where I found a cracking pitch looking back down to it👌🏻👍🏻…. Another great bit of entertainment there Dave and sounds like you might have been a bit knackered after standing in for TC Last week. Brought back good memories for me...not hiking or camping though, it was when you opened the bottle of Beaujolais....when in was 16 the British Mountaineering Council invited me on an International Climbing Meeting in France and i only had 3 quid to my name so i hitched hiked all the way to Paris where i was told to meet my hosts who would take care of me from then on for 2 weeks but it ended in the South of France and i had zero money left but managed to get a lift all the way to Beaujolais village where i spent the next 2 weeks grape picking to be able to afford to get back and earn a few Francs extra....can you imagine one of todays 16 year olds doing that.........without phones , social media, money or contact with mummy and daddy etc etc

Another great camp Dave 👌, the langdales is such a lovely area of the lakes, even at lower level pitch your views are still stunning, looked like a hot one too. Blea Tarn looked lovely in the morning, nice and peaceful place, at one point I thought you were going to have a dip. I camped below lingmoor fell on Sunday night overlooking blea tarn, its probably my favourite pitch so far for the views it gave, and not that high up either, the duo mid looks like a cracker of a tent mate, is it spacious inside? Some great views and fantastic weather the good thing about a good breeze is it keeps the midge's away lol.i must admit the langdales is an area I haven't been to maybe because my route to the lakes puts me on the northern side and that's where I tend to hike and camp but there's always new places to go even when you are in the same area.im sure I'll visit there tho at some point it looks stunning

Really enjoyed that one, Dave. I've camped on that fell before, but from the Wrynose Pass / Little Langdale side in winter - lovely and quiet, with a high camp. Did chuckle seeing you descend almost back to where you started... bless! Lovely restful shots of the tarn, plus the wee Common Frog-let. Worlds in miniature. Cheers Dave, I loved that one, it’s been about eleven years since I was in the Langdale Valley although I have been up to Pike O Stickle but I walked from Stonethwaite as it’s easier for me to drive to there than drive to Langdale. Get a wine carrier, honestly they save weight and I freeze mine the night before so my wine is still chilled by the time I pitch up. What’s the rucksack, I’m a bit of a rucksack hoarder and like the look of that one.

Mostly MSR carbon cores. 6 x 9” 👍
