Appreciation and gratitude will always give you that gut-feeling... connecting to the environment, nature and the planet... very special feeling to have... that's another reason why more people should graduate towards the outdoors, whether that's a drive/ walk to the beach and just watch the waves, a walk in a park or just about anywhere outside/ outdoors will do that, 'breath in that air'.. You do that 'appreciation for all that you see and discover', in your videos, and that's inspiring, it seems to create a captivating mood with-in you and we sense/ experience that with you, connecting to the moment you experienced..

The rock formations have stood since before human history, this gives them a sense of eternity and connecting with them in the bush like that, you feel that eternity 😎✌️

The sheer magnitude of how massive our landscape is and the valley you were camped above really came to life when the chopper was flying through, with it's mechanical body looking insignificant. Great video, brother. Ivan

Mate, I’m glad that came across. That’s exactly why I filmed it and included it in the video, even if it was noisy, it only added to the contrast of Mother Nature and man’s machine/creations. Thanks Ivan 🙏

If you get off the black top, the Bluey's offer so much more. We hiked around here recently and it was an amazing place. From the views to the waves in the sandstone and the iron visible everywhere. What a place.

Beautiful land, Mattsy. In Canada, the first white men to see the vast wilderness were recorded as calling it, 'a pristine wilderness'. One of Canada's greatest canoeists, Bill Mason, says, calling it a pristine wilderness, 'is a testament to the first peoples who lived here before the White man showed up.' I am sure many other Australians set up camp in that very spot thousands of years ago, and you've been invited to join them. Keep it pristine. It's a lovely place.

I love that. I believe you could be quite right in saying others may have camped here long before I. All through history no doubt. I always think on that when I’m out in places like this. Who was here before me, who will visit king after I’m gone. Pretty awesome.

@TheSillySwagman
@TheSillySwagman 10 ай бұрын
I agree with all of those points and if it were dry I would’ve been a lot more careful. You don’t always see the conditions in the video and you don’t always see why I make the decisions I do, and I should maybe make more of an effort to explain decisions like that as I do care about fire safety and maintaining a smaller, controlled fire. This was after a few weeks of pretty heavy and constant rain and the top of that mountain on a good day is nearly always waterlogged with the soil sitting on top of rock. With the wind blowing like it was you can imagine the sticks burn through in a matter of seconds, so in order to get coals to cook with I was feeding it pretty quickly - initially. But also in my experience and the experience of many professionals who work in the bush, the idea that you’re going to start a fire with a few embers blowing through the wind unless the conditions are absolutely perfect, summer, bone dry, no rain for a while, it’s just not going to happen. Have you tried to start a fire with a flint n steel? Or a Ferro Rod? Using a perfectly prepared tinder nest? Contrary to popular belief that’s just not how fires start. However, I wouldn’t be leaving the fire unattended and I would be putting it out before I go to bed. But 100% I should explain these factors to the general audience.
