Such a joy to see your first video Hazey, and it's amazing to see how far you've come with your channel. You and your videos are a constant source of inspiration to me in creating my own videos, from the filming style, editing, music and even thumbnails. Your enthusiasm for life and the great outdoors has motivated me to abandon my fears and get out there and discover it for myself. Thank you.

I came back to see where it all started. What prompted you & It’s nice to see the progression, not only of your skills both in front & with the camera, but your camping ones too. They do make a great ‘diary’ for your old & fat days 🤣 but you’ll always have those feelings and memories (as long as you keep your marbles anyway) and if you don’t, you won’t care about anything anyway. So it’s a win-win. Haha. I enjoyed this as much as I do your fungarium ones of late. You’ve really grown into yourself and you should be proud. Heck, I am, and I’m just a name to you, but you feel like a mate to us & that’s a talent in itself. Much love 💕

Great video! I know where you started there, that’s the over the Yorkshire Moore’s road from malton to Whitby.....I did 4 days wondering around there recently. I use almost the same gear as you to. The hammock...I like mine fairly tight and have swapped the strings that support/ lift the fly net for lengths of elastic..this stops the netting from tearing when I put my weight onto it. I also use lengths of 3mm x 2m black elastic as bungees on all the eyelets of my basher to tension it out. No string! Works a treat and quicker to put up than tying knots in string. No knots to under just unhook and go! Great vid, keep em coming!......oh as for condensation in the hammock...I don’t get that probably cus I don’t use a silver foil space blanket!....they are terrible for that,!

Absolutly brilliant video matey, loved every bit of it. Especially the scene in the evening when overlooking the scenery and listening to the birds and the wittering on you do so well. :-) Great scene. Beautiful location and scenery too, just my kinda place. That Bushcraft XL worked a treat too, very mesmerising when in the hammock at night. I too have heard about your particular hammock being bad for condensation many times. I am sorry I have no recommendations to stop that as I use Tenth Wonder hammocks with no problems at all. Hope someone helps make it work for you though mate. All in all, really enjoyed your video, and I have now subbed you and gonna watch your others. Good luck on your long walk mate, and stay safe ATB WW2

Hi there I too had a travel hammock, and loved it through the summer, come the colder months it was a totally different matter. no matter what you do, as soon as colder air hits the bottom of the hammock your going to get condensation, I tried with and without the bug net in place and was using the DD underblanket. because of body heat its always going to be slightly warmer inside the hammock and any area of the hammock thats exposed to the colder air is where the condensation will form, usually nearer the ends and it runs down How did I get round the problem, I rang DD and told them, I explained that in my mind this problem could pose a risk as it could cause you to become cold wet and possibly hyperthermic, to me the system isnt really fit for purpose, DD are aware it is a problem and offered to exchange the travel for a frontline by return post free of charge, the frontline is breathable and doesnt suffer the same problems

Whenever you start going out in colder temps you have to pay attention to condensation. I've seen many guys with issues with their air mattresses and with waterproof gear. I once had a veritable rain storm in a tent in the late fall due to condensation. The winter it is worse her in Canada. Once wet it's very hard to dry again and most sleeping bags are useless. A goretex bivy bag might be the answer. Good trip and fun watch. Thanks!!

@HazeOutdoors 9 жыл бұрын
paul young The XL is just too big for me so the frontline is perfect. I imagine the XL will be very comfortable, it just depends if you don't mind carring the extra wight. £20 cheaper? That sounds like a very good deal providing its in good condition.

Haze Outdoors It's brand new matey, from The Bushcraft Store, the weight is making me think against it actually, I'm going to work out what else I'm needing, and get the hammock last. Looking at DD's prices, the Bushcraft store is cheaper on all items, the Frontline is only £42.

Do you have predator animals in your part of the world? Here in the north western parts of Oregon we have Mt Lions and coyotes which are actually getting large populations esp the cats. I couldnt sleep in a hammock cause a bear or big cat will have me nice and packaged for them like a human burrito😂 Your weather and plant life is a lot like the Willamette valley area that I live in. I love the rain and clouds here esp after a couple of months of the summer heat, I look forward for the rains return every year, it brings the nice fresh air.

I like your camp. Stove is a little to much work especially if your an athlete....smoke. The Go Pro was nice, and you seem to really enjoy the stars like me.

Just subbed after a recommendation from Simon, a Bloke in the Woods re Show us your Steak... In this vid, with the cap you are wearing and your camo gear, you look just like Oddball from Kelly's Heroes... Oddball Haze...
