The action we need to save the planet is to at least include an adapter inside the box, so people don't have to buy them separately, which produces more waste.

I've had the same two chargers for all my portable devices since 2019. If anything I have too many in-the-box cables. I don't see how ditching redundant chargers produces more waste. I still have so many disused pre-USB Type-C chargers in my cupboards (I really need to recycle those safely). If you buy it separately it produces a little more paper & card, which is widely recycled, but every time you get an unused charger it produces more electronic waste, which is far harder to recycle (and shouldn't be produced if not needed). The additional cost is a problem, so ideally fast chargers should be cheaply bundled when buying new devices (better yet if they are powerful enough for laptops - so you don't have multiple tiers of chargers), but I don't see how you can say more waste is produced.

@@PrinceRules64 It's often helpful to have a single adapter to charge multiple devices. However, newer Samsung devices support 45W super-fast charging. If you have an old adapter, you won't be able to take advantage of this feature. Additionally, many brands require users to use their genuine chargers. Constantly buying and discarding adapters from different brands when switching devices can contribute to e-waste. When trading in your old device along with its old adapter for a new one, you can get a better adapter with the new device. Therefore, brands should consider including an adapter in their device boxes.

@GadgetsArise Agreed, 45W+ as standard is due, that's what I meant when I said powerful enough for laptops. Although almost all Galaxys (including the smallest flagship S24, and the more common A series) only support up to 25W so far, so you can be sure their pack-in chargers would not meet this condition, therefore adding to the problem you describe. "Buying and discarding" seems more like user error in any other case, because as I said mine have lasted half a decade and still going. Better yet you can buy single plugs with multiple ports these days, and I don't know any brand that has ever included those packed in the box. As far as I know Galaxy devices (given that this is a galaxy video) are compatible with a wide range of chargers, I've not found any that's not compatible with mine (other than of course Apple sets). Even non-phone devices like 2017's Nintendo Switch or my old Dell laptop (with a barrel charger) can be charged by my 45W+ charger. Users should buy a decent charger and use it for years. If they want an upgrade then keep the old as the spare or recycle it. Don't try to upgrade every year: the technology hasn't changed. Trading in the charger every time they get a new device would be directly contributing to electronic waste.
