I think eye-dropping a bit in the gap would wick and fill perfectly. Prep it by brushing as you did, the wick some in the joint.

Yep, that'd work very nicely.

Excelent video. Just the solution (no pun intended!) I was looking for. The freeze frame on the bottle was particularly useful - I’ve just ordered a litre of it from APC Pure but it’s not cheap stuff once the postage is added. You should be on commission 😂 … let’s hope it arrives quickly as I will need it early next week. Thank you again.

@WhirlyBloke2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It only works with TPU and not nylon.

how about making a slurry ? to use as a gap filler or for irregular tears ? would the same technique as used with abs & acetone work with tpu & thf ?
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
Yep. That's a great idea.

is THF toxic after ? I love making tpu toys for my dog but im not too sure what I can use that wont be toxic to smooth that out so its easy to clean
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
As I said in the video several times, you should always wear a mask when using THF and be in a well ventilated or fan extracted area. I wear a mask and keep the windows open. But this is no different to using toluene, acetone or other toxic liquids. But it does work beautifully. *----- WHIRLY BLOKE HEALTH WARNING -----* Tetrahydrofuran can cause headache, nausea and dizziness. Very high exposure can cause unconsciousness and death. *Tetrahydrofuran may damage the liver and kidneys.* Tetrahydrofuran is a *FLAMMABLE LIQUID* and a *DANGEROUS FIRE HAZARD*

I think he meant after a few days or something. Will the toy then be safe for the dog to play with? I also have a question. What about for human skin? For example a 3D printed shoe. Thanks

does the surface change from glossy to matte or does it not have an effect at all?
@WhirlyBloke3 ай бұрын
@quasimongo410 it makes it glossy.
@xpim3d Жыл бұрын
Did it smooth the surface well for, let’s say, a 200 micron layer height print? Or not really? Tks :)
@WhirlyBloke Жыл бұрын
Depending on how much time you take over it, you can make it look like a moulded part.
