This seems pretty easy, we can get the few accepted values of x by using range of signum function and use that in the definition of signum function

I know you didn't ask,but I've researched the age restriction thingy and it turns out that it's not bad for ppl to be under age on YT as long as they're on their parent account.Yay I don't have to leave YT.

@@p_square google for a funny webpage created by wolfram company 😆 (maple is more modern and user-friendly and more popular but in the long run the _Wolfram Language_ is like a foreign language or programming language that sticks with you forever - a beautiful thing to have in one's life, you learn it for yourself as a general tool/skill and not because you just want to do maths 💃💁)

@@leecherlarry yeah, I looked at it... maple clearly looks better but Mathematica is more popular because of WolframAlpha. Even I didn't knew about Maple before you told. And the webpage is just filled with how Mathematica is better than Maple which I don't think is true.

Hi Sir, i know the academic solution the secomd one. But the first one is smart but crealrly not possible to be gemeralised and became more difficult if the second part of the equation is a little more complicated. Thx for all your videos even i haven’t seen all of them.

There is a way you can define the signum of a for a equal to zero. Signum(a)=a|a|. Instead of the division.

Signum function only gives 0 when the input of sgm is 0. Which means 0 = 1 - 2x and 0 = x^2 - 4x + 1. Solving both of these equalities does not lead to any common solution thus is not a correct answer. Does this make sense? Let me know if u understood it or not
@enejidjsi59393 жыл бұрын
I mean sgm(whatever) can only be 0 when whatever = 0. Thats what i mean by the first line

But what is sgn(i)
@heinrich.hitzinger9 ай бұрын
Well... The signum of a complex number z is z/|z|. i=e^[(pi/2)i] Hence |i|=1. sgn(i)=i/1=i. The result is a complex number on the unit circle with the same angle (argument). :) For real numbers, sgn(x)=x/|x| That may only be -1, 0 or 1. :)
