U can approximate it easily as well in your head logbase2 ( 34 )/3 ≈ 5 . 07 /3 ≈ 1 . 69 For approximation I did it like this Logbase2 (32) = 5 ..... (Reason : 2⁵ = 32 ) Logbase2 (64) = 6 ... The difference between 64 and 32 is 32 We have to find Logbase2 (34) which is 2 / 32 greater than 32 So it must be around 5.0625 but since log function increases with a rapid rate at the initial point and decreases later on so Logbase2 (34) must be something greater than that like 5.07 or 5.08

I am not good at maths but i just wanted to ask why can't we write 34 as 32+2 = 2⁵+2¹. So now we would have, 2^(3x) = 2^(5) + 2^(1). And then can we say that as the bases are same we will calculate the powers and just write it like 3x = 5+1 => 3x = 6 => x = 6÷3 which implies x = 2. I know i am probably wrong so just let me know my mistake.
@mrhtutoring Жыл бұрын
Good question. When you have 2^(3x) = 2^(5) + 2^(1), you cannot set 3x=5+1. You can only let the exponents equal to each other there is only one base on each side of the equation. For example, 2^3x=2^(5+1) is equal to 3x=5+1 I hope this helps.
