You are wrong on one issue and partially right on other. Yes the Islamic wanted the loot but they made sure that they defiled, broke the faces and hands or if it was too much atleast the nose of statues both outside and inside. There are thousands of ruined temples to prove it. So you are wrong on this issue. You may be right or wrong on the issue whether the outer walls in this specific structure had statues or not.
