BMW S63B44 a few photos Engine rebuild - Ok folks, I have fully rebuilt the engine of my X5M and documented the whole process however with lack of time to edit and publish the full 350Gb of videos I decided to make a quick preview with some before and after photos.

Why didnt yu use silicone glue when yu attach head gasket work etc ? Yu just use seal without any other glue.

Hi, the BMW manual/assembly procedure requires a tiny bit of silicone between the block/engine timing cover. The OEM gasket has and expandable rubber material on the tip to seal that part but I guess its just too much heat so BMW ask to use bit of silicone. (yes just silicone and new gaskets)

Hallo. Why do you have Smoke from tail pipe..what is problème

Yes, I had lots of smoke from the tail pipe sometimes even at idle hence the reason I rebuilt the engine.

What caused your timing chain issues and why didnt you choose to go with forged rods? Mine is losing less than a liter/ 5k miles (7km) but it's a constant stinky oil burning smell so I think I have either that rear main &or valley leak that you had (I'm at 105k miles / 169km). I'd love to switch my coolant lines over to the simplified non-OEM you use if you ever do a detailed video.

My car was at 163.000 kms and just like some other BMW engines the chains stretch as they age. I rebuilt the X5M for my wife (so I can fun while driving with the family) and will keep it stock for now. Was also trying to keep expenses at a minimum that's why I did not change the rods. Regarding the lines, Ill have plenty more videos coming soon (got busy at work means no time for editing)

Hi, yes I should have a full list of parts and 360Gb of videos and tutorial I'll be uploading soon. Keep an eye out for new videos, but in a summary I'd say: Gasket set (top and bottom) comes with almost every single gasket/seal for the S63/N63 - All main and rod bearings - Timing chain kit (full kit with tensioners and rails) - PCV / oil separators
