That's not everyone else's responsibility. If there are problem kids. Make examples of them. I didn't go to school in the 70s. Mid 80s.... and in elementary school when you went to the principal it wasn't uncommon to have to kneel on a broom. If that's too harsh for people they should reconsider having kids. A few years ago, I would've objected to this plan. To outsiders, it does sound outrageous. But, having worked at 2 schools like this, I get it, now. When faculty and staff refer to their own school as a warzone, LISTEN TO THEM. At one school, more than 40% of teachers quit within the fall semester. At the other, on my first day I was told by an administrator and another teacher, "Don't even try with this class. Just call roll. Then keep your back to the wall, and scream if you need help."

This is the comment right here! If your kid is causing problems then you have to go to school with them and make sure they're acting right. That would go a long way to reigning in this mess. But they don't want to do it, so it falls on the teachers to have to try and control it. If it's out of control to the point where teachers are getting broken bones (was in another report of a math teacher getting a broken arm breaking up a fight) then something drastic needs to happen to get things back in order, because I can assure you the parents of the trouble makers will be no help at all.

Okay, What about the parents??? At some point should'nt they be held accountable for what their children are bringing/doing at the School??? I see it all over social media, Kid's cussing out and disrespecting teachers. This starts at home !!! If your children are talking like this at school you know darn well they are doing it at home. Parents need to be step up. I'm on video games from time to time and the kids on these games have filthy mouths. Once again the Parents are not paying attention to what their kids are doing and saying, which means the kids learn that it's OK. This cycle spirals, I've seen it first hand. We need to start holding the kids AND their Parents responsible !! If they want their kid to attend a public school you have to agree to the schools 'code of rules' of what have you. We had to do it every year. If the kid can't be respectful put them in detention if that doesnt word after school suspension if that still doesnt work get the parents involved maybe a boot camp can be offered to get the kids in line ( and keep them out of jail) if they STILL buck, a harsher discipline, if that fails and they are about to go to jail its either Jail or Military ( where they will have a special unit that is in charge of all the sh$! work for the military.) {also depends on the severity of the 'act'} ... How can a parent say it’s a step too far! Obviously, these students have taken control of everything. These same parents kids. I’d like to hear what their resolution would be. I bet none of them would have a clue. If the school is asking the Governor to bring in the NG, then by god, bring them in. If they don’t take back control of the school and its students, some of these students won’t be going home. They will be going to the morgue. The parents will then start blaming the school for lack of action and law suits to follow. This is outrageous. The parents of all children must take back control of their children. You can’t let underdeveloped minds control our society, but we do. This country has become so weak kneed, that everyone is afraid to do something about it for fear of child abuse. That’s the whole problem in its entirety. I want my kid protected and I will make sure my kid is disciplined my way. And that will be physical.NOT SCARED!

Brockton High School has no respect for disability services. I was born with a balance disorder called Cerebral Palsy. When I was a freshman at 15 years old in September 2010, the school refused to make accommodations for me to join Mr. Hogan's acting class for four years. I had no choice but to wait until I attended Massasoit Community College to start taking acting classes in September, 2015. I was 20 years old. The high school also has the worst academic advisors I have ever worked with. I got a bad GPA score when I graduated in 2014 because they never encouraged me that I needed to make accommodations in my future college prep classes to transfer to Bridgewater State University at 19 instead of at 26. One way to improve Brockton High School would be to eliminate the Green, Red, Azure, and Yellow cafeterias because students being assigned to eat at a specific cafeteria promotes exclusion, discrimination, and segregation and the lack of personal social growth results in people realizing that they are not getting the social practice and inclusion that they need to master before they graduate. Students should be free to sit in whatever cafeteria they want with their friends regardless of the color of the house. Another way to improve Brockton High School would be to give future students the chance to register for three classes during the fall or spring semester instead of doing five or six classes at once.

The National Guard HAS been used in the past to intervene when students become violent and unruly. THERE IS NOTHING NEW HERE........... 1968/69 Plainfield High School, Plainfield, NJ. National Guard was utilized to quell student protest against the war in Viet Nam and simply to monitor student activity IN the school and ON school grounds............NOTHING NEW with this suggestion/action and HOPEFULLY this action might help protect everyone involved..............
