Some Idiot Brought a Bully in Spiked Armor to a Dog Park

He also a horny, intact male, that tries to mount every dog he sees. The spikes are unfair, and potentially dangerous to all of the other dogs. If he attacked, or got into a fight with another dog, the other dog would be practically defenseless. As you can see, dogs communicate "NO!" with muzzle butts and nips other physical warnings. The dogs could get injured just communicating 'no!' with that thing.
(The grey dog, Winston, and the Husky, Nevaeh are both my dogs and they grew up together and love each other so they play like this.)

I'm a vet and those spiked thingies are sooo dangerous! IV seen dogs come in with eye injuries etc where the dog wearing the spikes didn't mean harm but during play like the pit was doing the spike went into the other dogs eyeball. The other two I believe and sorry if I'm wrong grew up together and are best friends . The female Husky would have played merry hell if the Grey male has put any force into the neck grab. There was barely any contact with skin it was mainly her fur and she deffo wouldn't have presented her belly tail wagging if she felt threatened in anyway. If the pit had tried it He would have learnt a hard lesson. He was actually very well behaved as he still had his tackle ( unfixed stud male); There were a couple of times he tried his luck but he backed off when the other two warned him. So a very nice dog really. I also love the idea of dog parks! We have nothing like that in the UK , we have parks but people and animals are mixed

My dog kept trying to get away. When my dog had enough he faced the pup and gave him a scary snarl, growling . The owner finally decided to get her dog 😅 I knew my dog would only teach the pup a lesson. She thought it was cool having her little dog harrass a bigger tougher dog. It's not cool at all.

Neutered or not. Dogs no matter what breed should be TRAINED to have basic manners at the dog park and socialization around other dogs at a young age. Did that with one of my dogs that’s intact. He just plays with other dogs, doesn’t mount, doesn’t try to fight and if a dog gets annoyed at him he just simply walks away. Training is a must.

@@VoidMommy Many dogs need to have their tails docked according to what they're bred to do, many herding breeds were actually bred to have naturally docked tails, those that aren't need to have them docked so that the sheep or cattle don't step on the tails and break them. Take rottweilers for example, many people actually keep the tails on their rotts because it looks better. They're actually trying to change the breed standard for rotts to include the tails. My sister specifically requested that the breeders of her rotts keep the tails on her puppies and paid extra for them. One of them had what the vets call "happy tail" and was constantly wagging his tail and knocking it against things, eventually he ended up damaging a nerve in his tail that cause it to go numb and he ended up chewing half his tail off one night. My sister and her boyfriend woke up to a living room covered in blood and a dog *still* wagging his stump, getting blood everywhere xD. They had his tail amputated. What I'm saying is, sometimes it's more than just "because you think it looks good"

Aggressive dogs should not be allowed at dog parks. But, seriously? Dog parks are made for socializing, which without it, will lead to an aggressive, anxious dog. Which leads to attacks. I believe you should take your dog to a dog park. But beware, that if there is a dog that is showing unusual body language ( stiffness ) then you should leave.

She played with other dogs for a year maybe year and a half then just stopped. Now she pretty much ignores all dogs and will warn them away if they come over and bother her. So I tend to give people a wide berth save any potential drama.

About the whole amatuer dog psychotherapy thing going on with the husky and the other dog... I had a dog that got what you see in that video when he went to a particular park and there was a particular dog there that just outweighed him by a fair bit and I was worried about it ... though there was no aggression I thought it was bullying but in time when I took my dog to that park I realized my dog made a beeline for that particular dog and visa versa because they loved to rough house even though my dog 90 percent of the time looked as if he was rag-dolled lol Dogs play differently and depending on nature what could be bullying from one dog is just a natural understanding from another thats how they can play with each other regardless of how it looks its a mutual thing

The issue is other dogs (like the Golden in the beginning) won't tolerate being mounted so they will aggressively react. Sometimes that leads to fights, if they got in a fight that collar would shred that Golden's face.

@@nadinebrown7644 I understand what you are saying, but do you understand how many breeds fall under "gladiator dogs"? Even Winston falls under that label as a Pit Bull x Cane Corso mix. You would literally be banning several hundred breeds from being able to come to the dog park. It's not a breed issue, it's a people issue. I worked with dogs for over 20 yrs, I also had Pit Bulls for about the same amount of time. It's being a knowledgeable and responsible dog owner that matters. Any dog breed can become a menace to other dogs if they are not properly socialized and trained. There are actually small breeds out there that are highly aggressive and can and will kill dogs their own size. So attacking a breed or type of dog will never be a solution. It just muddies the issue and creates more confusion and problems. Go after the OWNER of the problem dog.

IMHO, that dog is more cheeky than dominant.... probably young and with lots to learn. He's actually in a submissive frame of mind, as evidenced by his ears being back and the fact that he did respond to their corrections like he should, but that doesn't stop him trying the boundaries and seeing what he can get away with. There's a Staffy near me that behaves very similar, but he does fall into line for the right dog with the right energy. If this Bully spent time around dogs like Winstun, he'd learn his place quickly. Possibly the owner is too weak, and finds strength in an intact Bully, but I agree it's a fight in the making.

The problem with armoring your dog on the reg is that they get one hell of a complex from it. The dog knows its throat is protected and that they can't be disciplined. They feel untouchable. It's a massive problem with working dogs, they get a big head and become super aggressive. Do not give your dog a collar like this if they wear it often or if they're in front of new dogs. It makes them extremely aggressive and stupid.
