I will NEVER FORGET those nights with our little pink princess when she first got there, Carer asleep somewhere close, and then you would see Lammie sleeping, always seemingly awake watching over Khanysia while she slept, almost as if knowing this little one was in pain and so special she needed extra nurturing and love and gave her just that. Then slowly as Khanysia grew you would STILL see Lammie there somewhere, munching on grass, staring at the camera doing not much else (always makes me laugh lol) but still only a few feet away from the baby. And over time, she healed, she grew, she healed, she got stronger and stronger, and then Lammie got a buddy Nungu who much like Lammie, became an instant healer and protector always there when Khanysia returned home from the day. They are angels just like all the carers at HERD and I am sure even though our princess wont be there sleeping anymore, she will make a special effort to stop in and say hello and munch on some grass because what they did for her she will NEVER FORGET!

She’s so big I don’t know how she can even lay down in her nursery! She’s still goofy little Khanyisa playing with her bushes as she has so often over the last 3 years. So cute. It will be interesting to see how she adapts to her new night time routine. Feeling nostalgic though. I’m glad you got a companion for Lammie in her old age too. These elephants feel such simple joy themselves, I think that seeing them is causing us to feel how they're feeling, their happy simple energy is flowing over to and into us, and we're feeling just like they feel for a minute. It's even the same way with us and other people sometimes, it's why happiness and laughter, as well as depression and anger, can be very contagious

I sort of feel that Khanyisa knows something's up...they say that elephants never forget and that they have a profound intuition. It was so gratifying to see this video and know first-hand what will happen with the transition to the Homestead. Imagine how the HERD is going to react with wonder and surprise and joy to have Meisiekind in their midst for good. Please capture that for us! Every move takes time and patience and care. And the life you Adine, and Carers have given Khanyisa cannot adequately be put into words. It's so heartfelt. I pray that all will be well...and that the HERD will continue to give hope to the next little 🐘that may come your way. Watching Khanyisa and Timisa grow up will surely be a part of my life. Can't wait for the next chapter! Bless you!

Your very kind to us out here on the web. As your subscribers we are so invested from the heart in khanysia, the Herd and each individual of tge Herd, whether they are elephant or human. So your kindness in preparing us for what we all know must happen for khanysia to contunie to grow and thrive is a gift to us that is priceless. We are sad but so hopeful. Sad for Lammie and Nangu and khanysia friendship to be now in a different phase. A phase that will mean less contact. We all know Lammie's deep devotion to khanysia, and both sheep and khanysia this will be quite an adjustment. Please give Lammie and Nangu our TLC. We will never forget them. Adine you know us well, and you know your Herd better. With A longing for things to be the same, and a desire to see khanysia grow into her own with her Herd, I know it is you it affects the most. We are also part of the Herd, and some of us have actually gone to Jabulani and met the Herd and carers. So we are here always for you, the Herd, the carers , the JabuLadies and never last, Lammie and Nangu and Nandi. Please let us know how the sheep are doing. Aww when Khanyisa caressed Lammie with her leg, so gentle. Bless her.

It’s time (not for us, though) for our meisiekind to join her herd at night, it’s what’s best for her well-being as an ellie and, if not, a bigger nursery have to be built😉- Love her & her antics, and when she beats the tall grass or bushes still makes me laugh. 💖🐘

Wow three years! Time sure does fly. Gonna miss seeing this precious angel all the time but do very glad she survived and is healthy and ready for her next phase. Gotta be hard for the sheep and humans though 😥😥😥

I remember the time when little Khanyisa was so small & sweet when she was an infant. 😊💜🌸🐘

I'm glad you paired up the sheep, as they'll still have a mini-herd when Khanyisa moves.

A very sweet video of our girl sweet Khanyisa.❤️🥰🐘. However,isn’t there a process where an elephants brain has to be retrained into knowing they the where she sleeps now will no longer be her safe place and that she will have to sleep outside with her Herd family? What if she throws a fit and she doesn’t want to be outside with her Herd family? Is there a way where she can do a trial run with her or is it still a little too soon to do that? I am only wanting Khanyisa to not be afraid and to know she will be safe with her Herd. God bless and love to you humans and the HERD Elephants too. Sue M.(Florida, USA)❤️🙏🏻😊🥰🌸🌼🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘😘❌⭕️❌⭕️

One day, I hope that all of us - including all at HERD - will be able to watch this video and look back with fondness at these moments of Khanyisa with her companions at the nursery. It's certainly a bitter-sweet moment - I can't believe how fast these three years have gone and how much our princess has grown. But I am totally curious to see how Khanyisa adapts to and fares in her new environment. ❤❤❤❤🐑🐑🐘🐘And three cheers to Lammie and Nungu!! What wonderful, patient companions they have been :)

She is a majestic animal. She knows she's big and powerful even at half size ... but still so careful no tonight. Beautiful.

I think that Lammie and Nungu really helped Khanyisa. They were very generous, kind, empathetic, caring and tolerant towards Khanyisa and she wasn't so alone. Do all of the other ellies know both sheep and think of them as friends, or does that only apply to Fenya and Khanyisa and maybe Timisa???
@herdelephantorphanage2 жыл бұрын
It only applies to Khanyisa and Fenya in this case. Timisa was old and healthy enough to go straight to joining the elephants and Kumbura also joined the elephants quite quickly
