Fully agree. Always knew that. The only problem is that with age we develop a number of inbalances, which can put us out of alignment. I found that it helps to have a clear image of a pivoting point around which our body rotates. Also, The movements of many joints are rotational, not linear, which makes it very difficult to mentally control them. Elena

Cool semantics: a braced core = “up-tight”person. Literally! Great video, it’s quite interesting how most mastery in life comes from ease, flow and “allowing”. A seemingly counter-concept to what the western civilized world messages the masses. Let’s keep sharing the light of humanity’s “great perhaps”!

What about running at higher intensity? Expiration and pelvic control?
@LawrencevanLingen Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by “what about running at higher intensity” could you be more specific? Are you asking about the relationship between expiration and pelvic movement or expiration and the pelvic floor? A little more detail please

Is it possible that the core maintains strength through running alone? Or would you still advise occasional core strengthening work like planks?
@LawrencevanLingen Жыл бұрын
Core is a complicated subject. We can use it in different ways. We can brace, make it stiff, be reactive or anti rotation. Running requires a more fluid and active core and spine. The lower back should be gently bend Ingpen from side to side and front to back, or if you think of the spine being relatively still the hips are rocking forward and back and raising up side to side. So planks are not really a relevant exercise for running. Crawling patterns are more relevant, more dynamic exercises like medicine ball work. The most important thing for good running form is good hip coordination which 99% of runners don’t have

@@LawrencevanLingen thank you for your considered response. I’ll always remember this and change my core strengthening accordingly.

Have you made the 'move from the center out' video?
@LawrencevanLingen10 ай бұрын
No but I should do one. Maybe today

@@LawrencevanLingen a video connecting the idea of running inwards-out to rope flow and to how that manifests in running would be pretty sweet. I'm enjoying the process of implementing these concepts into my running and seeing how it bleeds into normal life as well. Thanks for your work.
