*THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!* It's a whodunnit in today's episode as we slowly but surely uncover the mystery of the ruined windscreen. Was it an accident - or something more sinister? (And don't worry, I don't hold it against the culprit). We're joined by Joey for three episodes and in typical fashion, while Connor gets dragged off to an island to experience the ice age and Sharla is forced to ruin her voice box with impressions of Emma Bunton, Joey gets to eat an apple pie and build a 1980's bar from scratch. Still, our unsettling and weird accommodation cancels out some of the fun. Myself and the team have spent the week working hard on these last five episodes to release throughout January and bring the series to a close - a preview of which you'll find tucked in at the end of the episode! Thank you for your patience though guys; it was important for everyone working on this to have a Christmas/New Year's holiday, which is why things slowed down. But we've been back editing like mad (and waiting to clear certain 80's songs in this video) and we're excited to wrap up the last leg of the epic journey alongside Joey and Pete. Enjoy the episode!

I think Chris was a bit too harsh on the snack bar hotel. I can see why he might of seen it as creepy/sad that all of those snack bars had to end up as hotel rooms, but rooms/beds themselves look very clean and cozy, especially compared to some of the love hotels they've been too. More importantly, I think it effectively brings into perspective that certain forms of leisure weren't really made to last. Joey even said that he didn't prefer the currently operational snack bars, as they seem "sketchy" and "un-inviting". The hotel is really neat, as it is acting as a sort of livable museum for how people used to enjoy their off time, while simultaneously providing a needed service in current day. It's a rare win-win situation in today's world.

The challenge this episode is awesome cause everyone got to have fun! The car getting scratched also lead to the theme of the bar so... lol. It just makes the second half kinda sad cause you see all of the closed up bars there with no people but you can imagine how lively they must've at least been with the little party in the rv earlier. The series is about to end! I'm kinda sad about that, too. Watching JaJ had always been something fun to look forward to.

@@AbroadinJapan it would be great to also rent the space as a film set. If they would then allow them to decorate the rooms with furniture. Like some could function like a small shop. others back as a bar. yet others with some work could look as a home from the outside.

Easy fix for your back windshield: Spread clear nail polish into the scratch using the polish applicator brush. Allow the polish to dry for a couple of hours in order to fill in any scratches in the glass. Return to the scratch and wipe away any clear nail polish with a lightly dampened microfiber towel dipped in nail polish remover or acetone

On December 30th I rushed home from celebrating Christmas with my family for the first time in 5 years (I couldn't get away for so long due to either a snow storm or being unwell) and I was looking forward to spending New Years Eve with a really lovely friend who's from the UK and is very affable. You have my sympathies. I got it for the first time a few days before Christmas and it stayed for two weeks. So I didn't get to have my Christmas until weeks later. Which was nice, but not the same. I'm still trying to catch up. My symptoms weren't bad thankfully, but the timing could barely have been worse. With the bar. I feel like there was a missed opportunity to stock it with jelly shots and called it "Dr Jelly's". 😆 Too on the nose perhaps.

Neat to see how Hirosaki has changed since 2009 when I was a student at Hirosaki Daigaku. Wish you had stopped off at Hirosaki-Jo, and the Shrine near Iwaki-san. It’s so truly beautiful in the snow. Thanks for showcasing Aomori, there are so many hidden gems in the prefecture, especially the Snow festival and Nebuta, Neputa, and Tachineputa.

Genuinely curious: What did Connor do to you to always get the "shit"/"struggling" Abroad In Japan episodes? (I.E. the recent island where you, Natsuki, & Connor nearly froze to death on a private island) Whereas Joey always gets the "Luxurious" episodes 🤣. Not to say that both people haven't been in really incredible projects; Connor has seen some princess treatment too so to speak (five star hotels, incredible foods, exclusive travel, etc.) Is it just the "Angry British man despises treatment that isn't posh" humor effect, or like an inside joke kinda situation as really close friends?

Connor loves to complain, so we give him the tools to unleash his inner Welshman. That being said the camping was a ton of fun! Crappy sleeping bags aside, we all had a blast off camera.

“Bratapfel” (backed Appel) is a German Christmas dish. It has a filling where the seeds used to be. And it is also comes straight out of the oven and is served with vanilla sauce or ice like seen in the video.
