Warning: Long Message ahead. Message below aims to answer some of your questions you have in mind. Hope this helps. (1) MaPa = Mama and Papa (Parents) (2) Mapa = Map (English) (3) MaPa = Mata and Paa (Eyes & Feet) (4) Lataratara = There is no direct translation (Prolly) for this. This is a lullaby, a hymn normally our Mom makes everytime she puts us to sleep. Remember our [1]MaPa normally just utter any sound tucking us in. Our Map is our [1]MaPa in this Life journey. Both used and present on this song. This is a masterpiece written by Pablo in collaboration with the rest of SB19. The release of the magical song was intended between the mother’s day and father’s day since the song is for them. This is a love letter to our parents. For some if not most, we barely tell our parents how we feel inside. This masterpiece will help us do another move to tell them how much we value and love them. In the song, “we will never get lost because we have the Mapa (Map)”. The map represent our parents. The things they taught us, the sacrifices, the advice they give and hardships. We will never get lost so long as we have the Map (Map). The Map that we can bring anywhere we go. The map that contains all the leanings and guidance our [1]MaPa gave us. In the Filipino culture (or prolly in other culture), we children have great regard to our parents / elderly. Most of us we would want to give back. Times wherein we just want our parents to stay still, we want to serve them and it’s time for us (children) to do the rest. We want them to rest from the tiresome days and time they give and sacrifices for us. This song hits the hardest if we have those regrets if not being able to give back and let them rest from those tiring days they spent for us. Regrets prolly due to some unforeseen events. Event where they can no longer hear our “thank you” and gratefulness towards them. Regrets prolly because we don’t have the capability yet of returning the favor (though they never ask for it). Regrets prolly because we are far from them and this pandemic is hindering us of being with them or for any reason. Normally our parents (MaPa) would not share how hard life is, they would not tell us how tight things are. They would always keep inside them the struggles they are facing and normally they will always show their happy face for us not to worry. There’s this Filipino saying “isusubo nalang nila, ibibigay pa sayo” This can be translated as our parent always put us first. First part of the song, Justin talks about how our parents (MaPa) prioritize us in all aspects. In the Filipino culture, remember the day when you as a kid cries asking for a balloon and our parent would graciously get some coins and buy one for you. That moment we can only see the our happiness for getting what we simply want, but we cannot see their smile because we are happy with a simple thing. Josh’s part where he heed the memories and advise his (a) father gave him. That even though they are not together he promised of keeping them. Remember a milestone in our lives, our first step as a baby? Those gently hands guiding not just our ways but most making sure that if we fall, they are there willing to Catch and pick us up and encourage us to try again. For Single parents out there, you both the Ma and Pa. you alone is the Mapa. For those OFW parents (MaPa) doing the great sacrifices for their Kids, Salute! Those OFW Kids making every effort to provide and give back their MaPa’s, Salute. Watching this masterpiece brings me home every time. Let’s not wait for the time where we regret.. call them now and let them know how much we love and treasure them. Each one of us has a story to tell with regard to our MaPa and Mapa. I wanna hear em. IF the song “What” is proudly swinging our Flags, this “Where” is talking about our Origin, our parents and wherever we go, we will always go back to ur family. Masterpiece Indeed. SB19 is one of the few artist choose to write songs dedicated for their parents. Their very humble and they know where they came from. Their parents are one of their number one fan why they fighting for their dreams. Pablo said in one of their interview " they were inspired to write this song because there are times in their career that their are so busy and they don't have time to go home ang see their parents. Pablo ask each member how they feel that time. When they were living together they decided to write song for their parents to show that even though they are now successful but still their parents are the reason of their achievements. SB19 are really a great artist. They create music not just to show off or be popular but they create music to inspire and help their listener to express their unshared feeling through SB19 music.

Imagine how "lataratara" fits in this MV, since "La Tara/La Tierra" means the Earth or the world. Especially since the song includes an emphasis in "map" as also seen in the MV, plus in the end they showed the world/globe. I know "la tierra" is Spanish, but since the Philippines have a big influence from Spain, it's not impossible that it may be the case, or maybe a genius play on words by Pablo.

It doesnt literally mean stop crying but in a metaphorical sense it does. Heres what I mean: You know when youre a little baby, you cry a lot and youre mom would carry you in her arms, COMFORT you and probably say: there there now [stop crying my child]. With this, we can deffinitively say that we can, in some sense, proceed to conjecture that the closest english counterpart of "Tahan na" is "There There". OR otherwise construed as the words used by our parents to comfort us as babies, or maybe up to our early childhood and teen years, for us to stop crying because theyre there for you, they comfort you. So as babies, we would stop crying, close our eyes, and rest. Now, The wonderful and extremely emotionally artistic message that this verse impose that makes it a masterpiece, is that THIS TIME, The child is the one saying "Tahan na" to the parent. Mom, Dad, (Ma, Pa also = Mapa/Map [song title]) I will be the one taking care of you now so... "Tahan na". Map was the title because our parents guided us as our eyes (MAta) and feet (PAa). So that we know which path or direction to take. That eventualy lead to where we are today. the three meaning of MAPA in the song was 1st - MAPA (MAP) 2nd - Ma,Pa (Mom, Dad) 3rd - MA "MAta" (Eyes) and PA "PAa" (Feet). The eye represents the Mom who makes us become a visionary "to see the possibilities and outcome of the things we will do in the future" and wanderer for whichever we go we must seek for the things that makes us happy, and Feet represents the Dad who taught us to stand strong even tho how broken we are and makes us ready for whatever challenges may come to our lives. so whatever path we may take, wherever destination we go, whenever we want to take another journey, we always bring the MAP (guide) and we are always welcome when we go back to them (MA,PA).
