@@rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros9266 Yeah because bassoon is even harder to get a nice tone out of (?) Double reed instruments are usually way harder to control overtones, so harder to shape your overall tone.. (there's a lot that can go wrong, more so as with single reed instruments)

Wow. Tried playing bassoon for a hot minute back in the day. Easily one of the most difficult instruments to get started on. Honestly didn't think the instrument could do what you're doing with it. Mad props. Just amazing.

@@Android_Warrior Haha - tried that, too (composition majors had to take lessons on a bunch of instruments). Found out I'm not very good at double reeds. Piano is more than enough of a challenge for me.

At first, I had thought of the sound to be similar to a hybrid between a clarinet and tenor sax. But the more I listen to it, damn did I not expect bassoon to slowly engrave itself into my brain. I absolutely love your playing!

The timbre of bassoon truly and beautifully matches the essence of this song in miles original conception. Truly thoughtful nostalgic sounds, sweet and maybe a tinge sad. And the man behind the horn captured that perfectly too. Great freakin job!

One of the first musicians to use basoon in jazz was Illinois Jacquet and I had the pleasure of hearing him play. Another jazz bassoonist is Michael Rabinowitz. Well done playing and phrasing here my friend. Excellent!!

I saw and heard Frank Tiberi play bassoon with the Woody Herman band in the late 1970"s, probably 1979. Frank was the lead tenor player with the band normally.

Can't add much to what has been said already. Beautiful. I've always loved the sound of the baritone/bass reeds (bari sax, bass clarinet, bassoon) but never seen a bassoon featured in a jazz ensemble. I'm so glad YT put this in my feed. Can't wait to hear more.

Ok, so im only 17 but i would consider myself an ok jazz musician. My main instruments are tuba and trumpet. I love bassoon and just started playing it today, and it may be one of the hardest things ive ever done. I have tenfold respect for you now, not only as a fantastic jazz player, but for being able to accomplish all that on that instrument!!

The coolest bassoon tone I ever heard was through a Mu-tron Bi-phase. With the narrow long wave the long tones are exquisite.
