Something special has arrived!

Thanks to a donation from the @tvrail we're pleased to welcome a former Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis tender to the roster. This auxiliary tender will increase the water-carrying capacity of the locomotive for longer trips, greatly streamlining watering logistics while the engine operates in excursion service. This tender once belonged to an NC&STL Mikado-type locomotive and survived under ownership by Louisville & Nashville in maintenance-of-way service.

Glad to see that tender going somewhere that it’ll get to run and have a purpose again. Seeing it sit in various locations on TVRM property (McCarty Siding, Allied Metals, East Chatt. Yard…) was kinda sad. Poor thing practically had a garden in the coal bunker. Can’t wait to see it behind the 576.

If 576 goes on the mainline of CSX it will need an auxiliary tender to increase the greater distance between water stops. If CSX will allow the massive 4-8-4 on former NC&STL home rails or even L&N rails into the Henderson Sub or the Louisville Sub.

That’s great! One step closer to a 576 excursion! But.. The Tennessee Central has no observation car, so I wonder if the Royal Street private car will be acquired for these excursions?

I can’t wait to be on the throttle of 576 I need to push the lever forward and pull the throttle back slowly so the steam pressure builds up you don’t want pull the throttle back fast that will crack the boiler let me teach you guys

Possbily oil because the tourist railroads she may opreate on have canyons and dereserts that cant handle smoked coal.
