Something special in a T680 for 2019

We've actually put this truck together for a supplier of Kenworth who plans on using it for testing purposes. With this truck being a workhorse, it's got to have the 510 HP Paccar engine and the 12 speed Paccar transmission. What's my favorite special part about it? The paint. It's a color from Kenworth that's absolutely amazing. Want to know more about it? Spend a few minutes watching.

HE'S BESIDE A BLACK TRUCK?!?!! :) was expecting you to catch on fire lol It is a gorgeous color, had a 7series BMW in the same color, Midnight blue and when the sun hits it it's a dark metallic blue. all it needs is the BATMAN symbol shinning through the roof top ;)

Kenworth is definitely my favorite truck but I'mnot a T680 fan I love the W900 longhood I'm getting ready to trade my peterbilt truck in for the W900 longhood but it has to have a 18spd manual transmission keep up the great work KW

Event camera: I'v seen systems like this in other contexts. They usually are continuously recording and overwriting on a short loops on 30-60 seconds, and if a triggering event (radical change of direction or other physics type event, or even when triggered manually) the overwriting stops and the previous time period is retained and the camera keeps recording for quite a while. They can be useful in studying critical incidents as part of a risk management protocol, such having a record of causation and the like for litigation.

I doubt that I'm right, but that paint color looks and sounds a lot like the Sapphire Black Metallic that I ordered on my 2006 Classic XL. Thanks to my wife and family "pit crew" she still shines like she did the day I drove her off the lot.

Adaptive cruise is terrible! Especially in a fleet truck that is governed. You have to anticipate lane changes to clear slower traffic WAY before you should be pulling out to pass. This slows traffic and frankly pisses everyone off. If you aren’t constantly watching the speedo, before you know it, you are going as slow as the slowest vehicle on the road. The Bendix blind spot indicator? Yep, it’ll tell you if something is in your blind spot alright. It will also let you know about every bridge abutment and Jersey barrier you pass. Not a fan of these technologies. Still though, I love my 680! Disclaimer: only experienced the adaptive cruise and Bendix systems when I have to drive a Freightliner when my KW is out for service.

Hey Josh. Sorry, but Blackout 2 is a horrible name for such a GREAT color! Something like Starry Night or Sable Cosmos etc would be more descriptive and have a little flair to it LOL!!! Also have a nagging question i hope you can find an answer to: You mentioned the "Smart Wheel" in the video reminding me of this question that came up in a meeting the other day. If while shopping for a new or used T680 we wold happen to find the perfect either NEW "stock model" at you dealership or a perfectly spec'ed USED, say a 2016, T680 with everything exactly as i want it. The only issue with either the brand new or the used one is that it doesn't have a Smart Wheel. Most safety conscious owners, i think will agree an extremely valuable "MUST" in any truck purchase. The question for you is: Is it possible to retrofit or "dealer install" a "Smart Wheel" system in a new or used T680 at a "reasonable" cost?
