Cody calling out Bruce at Mania goes to show how Cody doesn't forget about his roots. For an old-school forever pro wrestling fan, it was a cool moment

His roots are the two who people who some were clamoring to get rid of because of their proximity to Vince?
@kemocity5 ай бұрын
@@robertkelly8559 Yes. His roots are, indeed. Bruce Pricthard is an old school 'wrasslin' guy, actually, who was a big part of the territory days - a period that Cody's Father was very much part of.

Mick Foley is the friendliest wrestler I ever met. My son and I stayed after a show at the Nashville Fairgrounds that Mick was part of. He came out of the building eating a hotdog, but he took pictures and signed autographs for the people that were outside. A “handler” was telling him “c’mon Mick, we got to get you going”, but he stayed and continued to talk. Matt Hardy did the same thing, despite Reby avoiding fans and telling Matt to “let’s go”. 😂

Why was The Great American Bash the only former WCW PPV show name used after the purchase in 2001? With the brand split in 2002 was it ever discussed to use Bash at the Beach, Starrcade, Halloween Havoc, etc. for the branded PPVs? #AskBruce

Actually, Bruce is the one wrong here. Kurt isn't imagining anything because i've heard it from Bret as well. Vince was the one that wanted Bret Hart back for Mania in Toronto, WM X8. He wanted him to either ref the main event, Jericho vs HHH, or have a match with Kurt Angle. Bret told Vince (and I guess Kurt as well) that he would never be able to step in the ring again after the concussion due to the kick from Goldberg in 1999. And he wasn't gonna ref the main event because he still held a lot of animosity towards HHH from the screw job and wasn't gonna raise his hand at the end of the night.. Sting was the other option Vince had in mind as a opponent for Kurt that year, but he turned down coming in at the time due to being cautious of how he would be used, particularly after The Rock/Booker T segment from a few months before where Rock in Sting's mind came across as not knowing who Booker T was.

I'll give you an alternate Universe. Verne Gagne dies in January 1984. The AWA signs the deal with CBS for a prime time wrestling show and Hulk Hogan decides to stay with the AWA when Verne's son Greg takes over. Already in place are Mean Gene Overland Jesse Ventura and Larry Zbysco for commentary. Bobby the brain Heenan is already there and Andre the Giant has a long working relationship with the AWA going back to 1971 when he first wrestled there. The Iron Sheik, Dr.D David Schultz and Ken Patera are there to go against Don Muraco Superstar Billy Graham and Jimmy Snuka (who started in the AWA as Lani Kealoha) Ric Flair is asked to come back as a tribute to his trainer and coach Verne Gagne and Ricky Steamboat is released from his contractual obligations to Verne for his appearance in what Verne wanted to call "The Superbowl of Wrestling". And the Road Warriors and Barry Dorso come home with Rick Rude. And then when Greg gets tired of booking he gives a new kid in the back office a chance to hold the reigns for the first time. Eric Bischoff who was there at the time. Now that is an Alternate Universe.

Bruce's comment about "back when men were men" reminds me of the Living Legend Larry Zbysko uttering the comment "back when men were men and women didn't vote". Different time in the late 90s. Make that comment today and your done immediately.

I think Bret at least in part, just got tired of being dogged by WWE to do a match off of Montreal. He got it over with so he could move on. He had no business being in the ring, and I wish the whole deal had never happened.

Heel Piper would've easily worked for a short program of a year. Way better than roller coaster of Wrestler's that Hogan ran through up until Andre and Million Dollar Man.

Ask Bruce Anything 🤔 well Bruce on Andre the Giant Andre appeared on World Championship Wrestling's (WCW) Clash of the Champions XX special that aired on TBS on 2 September 1992, do you believe Andre was going to work for WCW in some capacity and if he was healthy how would Andre fit in if he jumped over from WWF/WWE?
@hiddensword93875 ай бұрын
Bruce either not understanding it or being a condescending douche when he says different audiences wanted different Hogans. WWE fans were starting to boo Hogan before he left in the early 90's. They hadn't seen him for a decade when he returned and he'd become cool again.
