That Willow Green really pops Cole. It's so great to see this process because I'm trying to fumble my way through exactly the same thing with my MK1. Can't wait for the next episode mate.

Always fun fitting up a newly painted shell, have you scratched it yet? The tyres are on wrong as well. The yellow dot goes by the valve and the red dot represents the heaviest (or lightest - cant remember which way round) point of the tyre.

Dear Cole, I have been following you for many years now, and I have learnt so many things from you. I am planning to do the paint work at home and I have bought few paint items for my project. Please teach me how to remove and fit the back glass and the windscreen..that would be a great help..

Hey! Thank you for being a longtime watching. :-) I am planning to do a video on how to install the front and rear glass on this car when I get to that stage.

Unless the LED bulbs account for it, you may need a different flasher. I had to do that in mine to stop the speed-flash. Also, what adapters did you use to convert the barbed fitting on the tank to AN lines? BTW, the new colors look great. You'll have to change your channel icon.
@classicminidiy Жыл бұрын
The Haltech VCU I’m using has a built in flasher and is controlling it all. The electrical system is full managed by the Haltech VCA. 😎 thanks for looking out though! Gonna have to start thinking of a new logo… These are the barb fittings: amzn.to/3Fou0zT

I have to ask about a few things. I would like to know just what parts you're using for the headlight install, the fittings there with the hex head screws into what? There are several non-standard pieces being used for your own reasons and I would love to use them in what I am also building up from a freshly restored shell at the moment. For example, how you are plumbing the fuel system, what parts, why those parts, and how you go about putting the fittings on there. Was this covered elsewhere? I don't know, but when I see some better or cleaner ways of doing things, I want to know how and what not just see it. I love this project. What are those pedals?

New to the channel, is this the first mini build you have done or very experienced? Love the channel from AUS. Saving for another mini (had a 850 as my first car)

Hey! Sorry for the delay in response. :-) I have owned my mini for about 14 years so I have about 14 years of experience with this car and many other minis. So def not my first rodeo

Are you going to run the rear wiring harness through the roof? Or are you gonna sneak it across the floor?
@classicminidiy Жыл бұрын
The roof sure. No wires on the floor is my rule.

@@classicminidiysolid stuff. I think on the rovers, they came on the floor.

Sounds right, the mk1 was the same way from the factory but it just feels cleaner up in the roof for some reason to me.

What a beautiful color, finally everything is coming together! I'm enjoying following the rebuild of your beautiful mini! Thanks for taking us along for the ride, Cole. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎☺ Can you tell us which LED bulbs you have installed in the front and rear? Especially the rear LEDs would be interesting. In Europe, only 2 manufacturers currently produce LED H4 bulbs that are legally approved for road use. The OSRAM Night Breaker H4-LED (I have purchased) and from Philips the Ultinon Pro6000 H4-LED, all other bulbs are illegal and may not be installed.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes the bulbs the mini uses for the turn signals/park lights/brakes are all standard 1157 and 1156 bulbs. Headlights - www.dapperlighting.com/products/oe7 Front turn signals - amzn.to/3QqNdak Rear Turn Signals - amzn.to/3Qrlrug Rear Brake/Tail - amzn.to/494yERe
