I lived for SNME as a kid. Like I planned my whole week around it as a kid when I saw the advertisement or read about it in TV Guide. Magical to say the least. I feel bad for my son as he will never understand how magical it was to be a kid in the 1980s / 90s.

@Old Age ill agree on mid 90s......as for late 90s im assuming you were not watching by that point bc saying 97 to 2000 wwe wasn't great is crazy. It was infact effing great.

it was kinda in the way that McDowell's is not like McDonald's, lol... the makeup style was different, they wore smaller spikes on their attire as opposed to the bigger spikes on the Road Warriors... there were differences, but once Vince got the LOD, he dropped Demolition pretty fast

@@thelegendarydowntowntonybr2598 Ya it sux because Demolition was awesome! They could of gone till 1993 but Vince for some reason gave up on them. When they had Crush they should of ran with The Freebird's rule. That would of helped giving them at least a little bit of longevity.

"I don't see that as a burial at all" Nor do I. How did that bury Brother Love? He wasn't Taker's manager anymore but he still had plenty of heat after this.

It was a nice surprise that this was a watch along. I didnt think it was in Macon, Georgia where this happened. The only breason I remember Macon was the December to Dismember PPV in 06 that sucked. Meltzer wouldnt know his ass from a whole in the head when he talked about Bruce steeping down as manager of the Undertaker. This episode was a perfect wrap of Royal Rumble 91. I couldnt believe Slaughter beat Warrior. The WWF Championship would have been more useful in the Warrior Macho King feud.

I'm pretty sure the segment that was called a "burial" by Dave Meltzer was Ultimate Warrior's attack on Brother Love, which happened at the same taping as Paul Bearer's debut.

Demolition was not a rip-off, they were ripped off! When Legion of Doom came in, they were tossed aside like nothing. (Allegedly, Animal called an audible at SummerSlam 92 to not do the doomday device finisher. Because he figured Hawk was too messed up to execute it safely.)

Legion of Doom had been The Road Warriors for years before they joined WWF, one of the most popular tag teams of the 1980s, Demolition was created as a WWF version of them, but then the actual Road Warriors came to WWF as Legion of Doom so Demolition no longer had a purpose.

Did they mistake the Warrior beating at this taping for the Bearer debut? There was no burial on Bruce for Brother Love handing off the Taker's career to Paul willingly. And that was only so Bruce could take a booking role backstage, his firing soon afterwards was for unrelated issues...

Yeah, "The Main Event" specials are listed as SNMEs. They were all intended (with the exception of the Hogan-Andre rematch in 88 which was live) to air on Saturday, but NBC told them days earlier, after the shows were taped, that they were on Fridays. The problem with day-specific show titles...

@@tomseville1057 The 1989 (Mega Powers vs. Twin Towers) and 1990 (Hogan vs. Savage) editions were live, too. The 1991 show wasn't, but as far as I know, it was planned to be a Main Event and not a SNME in advance.

And the Nov 1990 Friday night main event was originally supposed to be a Saturday nights main event with Warrior vs Savage in a cage and the Rockers beating the Harts for the tag titles. Instead we got a Friday night special with no tag titles (the match when the ropes broke, but also Anvil resigned). We got Warrior vs Dibiase instead.

I think Conrad is reaching too hard with the come on man when talking about Meltzer saying the burial of Percy Pringle. It was successful. I'm pretty sure he said the same thing and 95 that they're burying Dustin Rhodes with the Goldust character but like Paul Bearer it lasted for years and was quite successful and it was not a burial.
