But there was no way he was winning the big one against Austin and Rock clean, it was always going to be screwy finishes that retained his title. Awful run.

IF they win cleanly and not some heel bs finish. Ya think? They have a screwy finish for Y2J to beat Rock, followed by another screwy finish for Y2J to beat Austin. There was no flow to either match because of the constant outside interference. I thought I was watching a WCW PPV. If you want to put Jericho over, give the guy a d@mn win. They did everything possible to create the most lame duck champion in WWF history. What a waste of time. Made the WrestleMania match against HHH meaningless. Even if Jericho needs to "cheat" to win (a sneaky chair shot or whatever), let him pin Rock and Austin clean and don't have any interference. @heathra682 жыл бұрын
No matter what was booked after, he was the first ever Unified title holder, and the only one that was undisputed. The shock factor was a bit of a bump, but the recognition of what Jericho accomplished during his time earned the shot imo. If Jericho had HHH's build with Y2Js skills, he would be the undisputed GOAT, not top 5 all time. The fact that a 5'8 wrestler is mentioned in the same conversation as Hogan, Rock, Stone Cold is recognition of his skill in and out of the ring.

Despite what marks say, HHH was one of the biggest draw at the time. He usually was within the Top 3 draws (behind Rock and Austin of course) and the WWE pushed him rightfully and put the belt on him. Royal Rumble 2002 was hyped solely around his big return, everybody knew he was going to win the Rumble and people wanted to see it. 670,000 buys made it the third higest non-wrestlemania buyrate in WWE History after Backlash 2000 with 675,000 (ME was HHH vs. Rock) and SummerSlam 1998 (700,000)

@@melaniel.4269 HHH was the ultimate bad a** heel,, him taking the belt and then having a babyface chase him for it with him ultimately winning at WM builds a star,, this was the start of where they just chucked it on whoever to try and make them a "star", that's not how it works,, you build them by pitting them against an already big star and having them fail for a bit because the heel keeps screwing them over, eventually the crowd buy into it and you run with it. IF the crowd don't react, they don't draw then you move onto the next in line. I mean the WWE in recent years have thrown the belt at so many pale nobodies its quite pathetic,, Alberto Del Rio, Sheamus and Rey Mysterio to name just a few. Jeff Hardy???... @@melaniel.4269 I'm not saying Jericho isn't a star by this point,, but they had him turn heel and he had lost all momentum after that,, the time to stick the belt on him was during the Invasion storyline when he was a bad mouthing baby face, that's when the WWF title should have been put on him. Jericho should have been the one feuding with Austin alongside Angle. With Austin dropping the title to Jericho, it was the perfect time to make Jericho a proper main eventer. Yes I get it stone cold Steve Austin was already established and he didn’t necessarily need that accolade. But stone cold was the guy. I felt like he should have won the undisputed title at that moment and then for him to not even get the undisputed title at all to me I just think was a district service. Hell even Hulk Hogan got an undisputed title run which is kind of crap considering the fact that he abandoned Vince for a decade and stone cold essentially save his company.

Rock didn't need the boost, either, and went to Hollywood not long after. Angle had his issues and went to TNA. Jericho got a good 15 year run out of that night.

Matthew Bickle Strongly disagree Stone Cold definitely deserve to be the first undisputed champion. Considering the fact of all the people who ended up being the undisputed champion Austin definitely got blackballed. He was more over than any of the guys who won the undisputed title and single-handedly was one of the biggest reasons why Vince McMahon was still in business yet Hulk Hogan got an undisputed title run and he did not. Stone cold should’ve won and then dropped the title to Chris Jericho at the Royal rumble. So we could at least say that stone cold was an undisputed champion. Did Stone cold need to be the first undisputed champion no he did not as he was already massively established it would just be another accolade on his resume however him being among the few people that won the undisputed title I feel like was something he deserved.

Would WCW Have Done Something With The WWE & If Yhe The Top WWE Stars, Had Guaranteed Contracts Or Just Didn't Come Over, Would WCW Somehow Brought The WWE Stars Over. It Seem Like WCW Should've Won The Monday Night War. If WCW Was Still Around, There Would Be No Indy Vanilla Midgets In The Main Event. There Was A Video On The 6 Most Retarded Things The WWE Did. Well, Another One Should Be Yhe The Handling Of The Invasion Angle. Yes, It Was Retarded. On July 9, 2001, In Atlanta, GA. WCW Hometown/Turf. Vince McMahon/The WWE Didn't Bring In The Top WCW Stars. The Retarded Part Is That, They Replaced The Top WCW Stars With 3 ECW Wrestlers; Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam & Justin Credible. It Was Dumb/Crazy That They Didn't Sign The Top WCW Stars, But They Made More Mistakes By Not Bringing In The Top Stars. Tommy Dreamer, In Size Doesn't Compare To Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Sid Vicious Nor Lex Luger. Dreamer Barely Compares To Sting. Sting Looked Bigger Than Him & If The're The Same Size, Sting Is The Bigger/Better Star. Rob Van Dam & Justin Credible Only Compare To Ric Flair & DDP In Builtness. They Don't Compare To Any Of The Built Top WCW Stars. Which Is/Was 5/6 Of Them/10 Of Them. The WWE Foolishly, Crazily, Ridiculously, Illogically, Senselessly & Retardedly Did Almost Everything(Without The Top WCW Stars) To Make The WCW/ECW Alliance Appear/Seem Like A Threat. The WWE Had More Wrestlers Than WCW & ECW Combined, During The Invasion. WCW Had 26 Wrestlers(24 Men & 2 Women & Kronik Showed Up In September) & ECW Had 10, 7 Who Were Already With WCW & The WWE, Before They Reunited As A Company & Invaded The WWE. If The WWE Brought The Top WCW Stars & A Few More Midcarders-Stevie Ray, Big T/Ahmed Johnson, Van Hammer, Brian Adams, Bryan Clark/Kronik, Bam Bam Bigelow, Jerry Flynn, The Demon Dale Torborg, Konnan, Disco Inferno, Horace Hogan & Former World Champions Scott Steiner & Jeff Jarrett(They Were Main Eventers), Then WCW Would've Had The Same Number Of Wrestlers As The WWE, Maybe More.
