I can tell you out of my own experience in this regards. A very good lawyer (known to win cases where they are defending criminals), that my cousin got to sue me for my fathers inheritance, created a fake image of me at the start of the hearing and made my cousin look like an an angel. Why? Because it's the easiest way to manipulate a judge's decision (due to how confirmation bias works). As the case progressed, no matter how much proof we got, the judge simply didn't want to understand nor did she pay much attention to it, while she completely disregarded the mistakes made by the other side. What kind of mistakes you ask? For instance.. They didn't have any actual proof but they had many witnesses. All of them were repeating the same thing (that they were family friends, that they knew my father, that he loved my cousin, etc. word by word) - all of it was suspicious, but one of the witnesses made it even more obvious. While he was giving his statement, he kept looking at a piece of paper infront of him. The judge asked him to give her the paper and then she proceeded to read it. They were instructions of what to say and how to answer if the judge asked something in particular. Funny enough, the whole thing didn't even get recorded during the case for one reason or another. The case kept going on for months. And at some point I simply just couldn't take it anymore, since it's EXTREMELY infuriating when you simply KNOW that the other side is lying and that the judge already formed an opinion and doesn't want to listen to you at all. At some point, when I was able to answer the judges questions, I addressed both the judge and the snake lawyer directly by saying that the other side was lying in court since day one, but since the judge was manipulated, she is now clearly too blind to see it. We later on had to change the judge. Now, not only the case still isn't closed after years - we also have several more cases open, with one of them being on supreme court - due to suspicion of jurisdiction corruption.

All I heard was "but our RV is broken" yeah but who broke it? Whose responsibility is it to fix it? It's not like they left it at a mechanic yard for 5 years. Here in Australia if you leave anything on anyone's property for a certain amount of time it becomes abandoned. Unless there is a set agreement to pay for storage there. Which if this case was in Australia there'd be no question, you're paying that fee.

@stephenbanks5952
@stephenbanks5952 2 жыл бұрын
The defendants are grubby. They abandoned their RV for 5 years but didn't want to block up their driveway. Apparently the plaintiff had to send them all sorts of letters to get them to come and pick it up. From this sort of behaviour you can make some kind of judgement about the kind of people they are. When the RV broke down the mistake the plaintiffs made was letting them move it back to their yard. They should have said 'No way' and told them to move it back to their apparently huge driveway. The defendants should have gone out of their way to make sure to pay the storage fees. All the subterfuge about 'only speaking to Tom' and then arguing about the cost and then saying they paid with no receipt and only being available outside of work hours and then not paying for three months and going camping show what difficult people they are. The plaintiffs should have realised what huge Karens they are and locked in something in writing to protect against this. The fact they are quibbling like this galls me after they stored it for free for 5 years. Why wasn't Tom there? He could have shed some light on this. He could have said if he made the agreement with the defendants or not. Somebody was lying for sure. I believe the plaintiff's story. The Karen will never accept the result. She still thinks she is in the right.

It doesn't matter what they cost. They depreciate from the day it is driven off the lot. Maybe worth half in two years if in excellent condition. They do three things wonderfully. 1) Suck fuel at a rate of 8mpg. $200 to fill up, gets you about 300 miles. 2) Leak and rot. Its not if it starts leaking, its when. 3) Kill a large swath of grass where you park it in your BACK yard. Most cities don't allow parking it in front. Has to be behind the front line of home.

if she really cared about whether that RV was working or not it would not be six years later that they're going through this. No way youre missing six years of possible trips in that RV if you really wanted it

Wow that last tidbit right after judgment "and we still have a motorhome that doesn't work" Uhhh sounds like a personal problem, lady.

LOL! The defendant (the guy) should wash that jacket on hot water about 20 times and see if it shrinks a little.

My mother in law had an RV that size that at 83 years old her son, & his gf talked her into buying with promises of taking her traveling. She bought it with $$ from selling her house. No travel happened. She lived in it long enough to make it gross with hoarding, and house friends (roaches & fleas). Eventually the company repossessed it, but that wasn’t easy to get them to do. Her other son & wife did clean it out, and got rid of the infestation, but couldn’t sell it.

I agree. I know the defendants were rude, maybe that doesn’t apply to this case. But I hate it when she’s asking people questions, and then cuts them off. Sometimes I wonder what’s the point of asking if you’re just going to talk over them. Then she tells people to stop talking when people talk over her, I just don’t understand. She’s a great judge, very smart, but I just don’t understand the concept of that.

@@arile13700 I used to think that too but I have since worked out it doesn't matter what the people say. The judge goes by what the law says. if people say they paid cash and have no records then the fact is they cant support their claim so they lose.

Notice how patient she is with people like that. She was rude and talking back all nasty. If they looked a bit different the judge would have treated them way different.
