If you liked this video please take a look at my latest blog tinyurl.com/39...
This is the 7th and final episode from Dave Allen's 1993 show on ITV, which aside from the 1994 Christmas special in the same theme and design as this show, sadly marked his final stand up work.
His final work also represented some of his best work, being as controversial as ever.
In this extended episode, Dave talks about things that cause stress and irritation, generally focusing on the service sector of supermarkets, post offices, banks, doctors and dentists.
For some hitherto unknown reason, this episode was trimmed down with material from this, spliced with the 1st episode of the series removing jibes about the Queen and John Major, possibly as the regional networks thought it might be too controversial, if anyone knows or suspects why please post it down in the comments.
Regardless here is the full version of the final show, which is my personal favourite of all as every bit of this is still relatable today, nearly 30 years later.

I'm sorry but there's a bunch of us here watching Dave, and the thing is if you're Irish especially Dublin you could relate to everything he's says because it all really happens, the supermarket, now that's a thing we all went through,he didn't need to make up his material because he lived it, just as we did.but he made a horrible day at Tesco sound like he knew exactly what you went through that day, because you did, for real,as I said he told the truth about everything,as anyone who is Irish were there time and time again I, we've got to have a Dave Allen day,can yea just imagine that? all hell breaking loose, kidding,by mate,johnser ☘️🥃

Iv known Dave my whole life,we lived together for a time,I never saw any major difference between his work and and his life,I love this country but it's slightly quieter without davie.our time together was a mixture of laughter and a fear of not being able to make people laugh, but of course that never happened,we would sit and paint all evening, go inside, he'd kiss me and read through most nights,we could walk around the town all day,as every ten minutes he'd be engrossed with everyone,never failed.a beautiful soul and one hell of a man,in every way, every single way😉

The veterinarian, who looked after my animals, used to work in the UK. The Allens were clients of his employer. He told me that Dave was just as funny off the stage and that his wife was even funnier. When they used to bring one of their pets into the vets they used to have everyone in stitches. That’s a gift.

Saturday Evenings in Denmark snowing outside, gathered by the TV as the music started the chair spot lighted, and Dave Allen appears. Was one of the best nights of the week for an 11 year old. Am sad he did not live longer than his late 60's very early 70's.

Never knew Dave Allen, he was already on TV when i got born, now i'm binchwatching his material. He was a really keen observer and when i see this, he was well ahead of his time. He saw things that are now still very current. These show light up these days.. where everything changed in a couple of years... ( and not for the better )

Dave Allen may have been ahead of his time but that's a good thing... because if he were from THIS time we'd never have seen him on TV because he'd be in jail (or undergoing therapy)

There were a lot of things that could be shown on TV that can't be shown now. It's odd that a congresswoman can show a vicarious view purportedly of the president's son on the House floor, but risque jokes and puns are frowned on. And sadly, variety shows too.

In England we got 7 x 30 minute editions, the extra here was from a different edtition, and you can noticeably see the joins so not sure where the extended folklore comes from
@sonadagothalus
@sonadagothalus 11 ай бұрын
If you look at Episode 1 (also uploaded) this is the full 30 minute episode where his suit and hair match. For whatever reason some of the footage from Episode 7 was trimmed down and replaced some of the footage in Episode 1, but you can see his suit and hair don't match, beyond being a black suit. Whatever way you view it, there are 6 regular length episodes and 1 much longer final episode being this one. No need to try to quibble claiming there is some duplication of footage going on.
