On keto there is not one person who isn't looking for a good bread loaf recipe. I for one am always. But, to be frank a lot of them fail and then you have this dense, flat long thing with a lot of wasted ingredients. Here I am sharing a successful Keto Flaxseed Bread recipe. What I like about it is that it is flax so it is high in Omega 3 and it is cheap and easily available everywhere or in most places.
This is a simple recipe with a few tricks. A keto bread fails for a few reasons: the keto flours itself are heavy so it turns out heavy, or your leavening agents or yeast isn't fresh or potent, too many eggs and it smells. So let's tackle these one by one. Keto flours are mostly nuts or seeds, so they will be heavier as they they are not nutrition stripped carbs. Remember, when you eat a keto bread you are getting much more that just taste and of course there is no replacing that. The second one is the leavening agents. You will need a little bit extra of these and also want to make sure that the yeast is live and the baking powder is working. Or else you will land up wasting a whole bunch of nuts and seeds. The smell of eggs is the smell of eggs. If you use egg whites it will significantly reduce the smell. Also, add some sweetener or cinnamon or so can help. Ideally we all want to make egg free breads. I do too. But i am trying. I think I need a new batch of yeast, to try again. This one has failed me a number of times and it hurts trust me.
In this bread I have used baking powder and yeast. The baking powder is the main leavening agent, the yeast mainly gives it the taste of bread. This flax seed bread turned out great. I was happy with the crust and the texture. It was almost like a rustic homemade bread. nAlthough if you store it, just like any other bread the crust will get softer.
