IIRC Hugh Jackman actually had a malignant tumor removed from his sinus cavity and was on a strict no singing ban. I think when interviewed he said after it was done he had popped a few stitches and had a massive nosebleed. Jeremey was brought in to help the pitch to producers b/c his style and range was similar to Jackman.
@abbiemills20472 жыл бұрын
Oh God I didn't realize the tumor was removed from his sinus cavity, I for some reason thought it had been on the outside of his nose

It was skin cancer, he's had several removed since.... that's why he keeps saying to be very careful with the sun now.... he had several removed then and was forbidden to sing to stop the stitches coming apart...which they did and he gad to go back to have them redone
@DougHanson27692 жыл бұрын
I had no idea he went through that hell! My nose sinus issues affected my voice especially my range, which might be only a couple octaves (very low bass only). Damn it! Was a Tenor/Baritone. But, that was then. Yes. Hugh Jackman is a good looking dude.

He was like “I showed up and let them know I wasn’t supposed to sing today. And they told everyone I’d be here and Jeremy would sing for me while I stand here and act out the scenes.” And this song has been my FAVORITE since watching this interview.

Poor Jeremy i feel so bad for him he was so hoping to get the role that Zach got. You need to watch the video of his greatest showman dream. He explains this video as he sings songs from the show. He was actually asked to sing Zac's parts for the studio execs he had to fly to New York and the day before he was told he also had to sing hughs part as well. All while he was sick and had lost his voice. He basically got the movie greenlit and they didn't even give him a role. I hope they fix that for the 2nd film bc its the right thing to do.

The lot of you needs to understand something. Hugh didn’t mean to outshine Jeremy. I’m sure he wouldn’t have minded if he kept singing. But you can’t blame Hugh for joining either. The producers actually needed him to sing, because he would be singing for the movie, not Jeremy. He had skin cancer and had an operation the day before this meeting. The doctors told him he wasn’t allowed to sing in order not to harm his nose anymore, but he just couldn’t hold back. Yes! Jeremy seemed disappointed but no one said he couldn’t continue singing. He made the choice to step back so he doesn’t really have the right to be upset. And you all are saying that he should have gotten a part. Yes! Maybe! But not P.T. Hugh was the one who started this whole project. He was the one who kept pushing and convinced Michael Gracey to do it. Jeremy may have helped but he wasn’t the main force. And btw…He would have been way to young to play P.T. He could have gotten the part of Phillip, but I’m sure the producers got their reasons why they chose Zac over Jeremy. We haven’t seen him acting as Phillip. Maybe that didn’t work out or he wasn’t getting along with the others. We’ll never know but it doesn’t matter, because the movie has long been released. And the movie was a masterpiece either way. And Hollywood is hard. Jeremy has lost this part but got many others.

My favorite fact about this movie was how the actors were the ones who were going around petitioning the movie to film makers because they believed it could be great, and it definitely was

The blonde hair who stood on the chair is Cynthia Erivo (Wicked Movie’s Elphaba). Bigger lady (slay) who is also ad-libbing two seats next to her is Kealla Settle (Bearded Lady from the movie).

OH MY Goodness! I've watched this clip for probably hundreds of times. It's a great pick-me-up, and your reaction video brings a huge smile to my face because we have so many same reactions like how I want to be in the room so bad, and I've also followed Natalie's page for many years. Just some other things you might or might not notice. At 4:36, Hugh probably felt something came out of his noise. At 4:55, Natalie, being a true youtube, was filming the session on her phone, haha. There's so much going on here. Thank you for doing this reaction video!

He had had a tumour removed from his nose and was told not to sing. However, he did and his stitches burst. He then had to go to hospital to have them put back in. That is dedication for you.

His nose isn't broken, he had a melanoma removed and the doctor told him expressly NOT to sing, but he had to in the moment.

You should have watched the first part, where they talk about how he had a thing removed from his nose and was told to NOT sing. And he didn’t sing for the whole workshop, and then here he just let it out. Thats why everyone was SOOOO into it bc they were just vibing with Hugh

Fun story; a few years ago, a friend of mine (fellow choral member) was getting married, and her groom wanted to do something special for her during the reception. The plan was to get several of us from the choir to do a "flash mob" during the reception, singing this song. We all attended and were scattered throughout the room. He brought her to the center of the dance floor, and had her sit in a chair, and he started speaking about she means to him. Then, apologizing in advance for his singing voice (he was not in the choir with us), he began singing this song to her. She and everyone else was very surprised when the rest of us stood up and began singing with him. Luckily, it was recorded for posterity, and is one of the most fun things I've been able to participate in at a wedding.

No way Hugh wasn't singing. So amazing. From X-Men to the Greatest Showman! So many amazing singers in one room! Also he had a skin cancer cut out of his nose.
