This info is so helpful! I am hoping to sell off some lower quality brushes so I can acquire better ones. I was really curious about your opinion of the dense fan Lotus brush, because I am interested in that set. Maybe it’s best used for contour? I am currently using the Chikohodo T-3. I love the handles! I also regret not getting the crane holder; I do not have a display area and have not needed it, but I hope to build a new house soon where I would have a vanity. I was waiting for that.

That lotus brush can be used for cream contour, but I am using it for foundation. I use all my fusion brushes + that lotus fan brush with base products. For me that lotus fan brush is not a must have: too thin to be my favorite for foundation, too wide to work for contour. I would rather go for the mini base for that.

It’s interesting that the brown bristles (on the Fusion brushes) are the synthetic ones instead of the white ones. I would’ve guessed it was the opposite. Despite knowing un-dyed goat hair is white 😆 I’m going to order the new Keyaki Niji because I love my original Keyaki set. I have a small vanity, so I appreciate the smaller handles. I’m trying to decide which brush would be best for applying powder foundation, which I do on “no makeup” days. I typically use pressed powders from Bare Minerals or Laura Mercier. What do you think? I really appreciate your overview of all these.

Hi! Thanks for watching and commenting. I have been using mineral makeup for years and the best way for me was to use a denser flat top or a kabuki. These are quite common to find. For compact powder foundation, I apply it with a sponge and then I buff to get an airbrushed effect. To do so, I can use the Buffer Pro by Sonia or a duo fiber, like the Hakuhodo G5554.
